TT specific intervals.

I'm looking to do a few TT's next year and also make a few breaks stick in some road races.

What type of intervals would be the most specific? I do ladders quite a lot at the moment as I find them the least boring for some reason.

  • different things I would have said, in a TT the intervals would be steady state efforts for prolonged periods of time so the ubiquitous 2 x 20mins pops up
however, road racing is about getting away from the bunch so you'll need to practice your attack/jump as well as sustained effort and then learn how to climb well enough to drop people who could outsprint you, then you'll need to be good enough to sprint at the end of it.
    Simple.
  • 5 on 5 off at max effort are just as useful as 2x20 for TTing. Very few courses are completely flat so increasing your anaerobic capacity is going to help.
