Hi just wondering if anyone has tried or uses Maximuscle products while training. :?:
I was going to give Viper a go instead of my Holland and Barret Isostar.
Also was going to try the protein bars for recovery. :?

I use PSP Rego which I quite like the taste of.................not sure how much benefit I get from it but it does seem to make the leggies feel a bit better the next morning if I have it after a hard ride.
Another rider in our club makes up their own recovery drinks by liquidising a banana and some whey powder in water - much cheaper than the packaged stuff.0 -
Rather than using protein bars for recovery, you need carbohydrates, that are high on the glycaemic index scale, and after exhaustive exercise are in the region of 1.5 g of carb per kg body mass.
All the evidence available points to carbs being the most important aspect of post exercise recovery, from glycogen replacement to a better immune system.

I recently bought one of the SIS 'variety' trial packs with sachets of REGO recovery drink amongst other bars/energy drinks/gels. IMO the REGO drink really works and tastes OK (well better than i had expected for such a product) in either chocolate or strawberry. I've now bought a big tub of the stuff. Can't say any of the other products in the pack particularly stood out in any way although none of them were bad either.
It really scores when you are in a hurry after a long ride and don't have time to empty the fridge It also rehydrates as well as its mainly water. It has a mix of carbs/protein and vitamins. I've also noted that i seem to be catching less colds than before though this may be coincidental.
Worth a try.0 -
