I use slime tubes and they are going strong after more thorns then I care to remember. Id recommend them for XC use.
    Giant TCR advanced 2 (Summer/race)
    Merlin single malt fixie (Commuter/winter/training)
    Trek superfly 7 (Summer XC)
Giant Yukon singlespeed conversion (winter MTB/Ice/snow)

XC and Street Mostly, but a bit of DH at speed.

Is there a decent good all rounder that I can get as spares.

well for XC i tend to use narrower tyres than for DH and for street i like nice thick tubes to resist puntures.

So any really as you will not be getting the best of any.

    XC schwalbe super light.

    DH maxxis DH

    street something between.
