How long do you stay 'warmed up'

How long can you resonably expect to be warmed up for? I sometimes use my ride home from college as my warm up ride, and by the time I've got in, had a bite to eat/hydrated, changed into lycra, and done some other bits and bobs, its been about 20 minutes. Would I be un-warmed by then?

    Hi there.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'd guess you'll still get some benefit after 20 minutes, but perhaps not very much! All I know is that in a TT I get the best results if I finish my warm up with no more than about 2 minutes to go before the start.

If you're talking about warming up before a training session, rather than a race then I guess you'd be ok.

    Cheers, Andy
