Here's a question for the anti music while cycling people

Should deaf people be allowed to cycle? :P

    Yes.

Would you choose to be deaf, or do you think deaf people wouldn't prefer to hear?
    :P

  • Wel I normally cycle with one head phone (lhs side - away from the traffic) and not too loud. I find that anything over about 30mph and you can't hear anything apart from wind noise anyway.

I also find that cycling in traffic with headphones is not a problem - there is so much traffic around that you have to rely on your sight a lot more to find out what's going on as the traffic is pretty constant. What is more of a concern is that you need to be listening out on the country lanes as the traffic coming from behind is not as frequent, and can catch you quite unawares if you're listening to music too loud.
Has the head wind picked up or the tail wind dropped off???

You should try carring DJ decks round if you think ipods are heavy.
I keep falling off my bike when I try to do some scratching.
Then you've got the problem of where to put your vinyl :D

How can YOU possibly say that phrase with your totally debauched lifestyle

You sound like a sad old man who missed out on his youth.

Thank goodness cycling doesn't affect everybody's ironic sense of humour in the same way as yours. I'm sure she doesn't need any more perves looking after her

Now if that doesn't get you out on the bike then I don't what will.

(And you can read that either way :D)

If it's okay for deaf people to ride bikes I suppose it's okay to have headphones as long as you behave cautiously and stay alert.

I do it all the time but usually pop them out on busy roads.

BTW, totally recommend earphones that fit into your ear canal as opposed to Ipod ear buds or those big ol' huckabuck headphones that cover your ear. No wind noise.
