Shaved Legs

So after winning my wife round, and getting permission to get a road bike, with a glint in her eye she said "so can I shave your legs??!?"

Now I know this is pretty standard in the pro's but what about you guys? I must admit my legs are pretty wooly which is probably not the most aesthetically pleasing when combined with tight shorts but the changing room ridicule I'd receive at cricket would be extreme....

Does any guy on here shave?

I shave my legs... but then I'm a girl.

I'd be horrified if my guy shaved his, and he has pretty furry legs.
So from my point of view - don't do it. Just one step from lacy pants imo.

Sure, back too. But I'm a troglodyte otherwise :)

Look, the wife fondling your slippery legs has *got* to be worth the risk, right?

I don't know, when your legs are as white as mine, the last thing you want is for them to look like a depilated chicken  As for that, what about when the damn stuff starts to grow back and snags on your trousers while you're at work? I think I'd need a serious application of fake tan, followed by the Veet in the shower and then hope that the two didn't kick of a terrible chemical reaction that would turn my skin transparent or something

Hairy legs and lycra rule! Especially when you're stopped at lights and can see your thigh hairs poking through! 8)

I've been shaving my legs for over a year now...because I can!

Agree with domtyler, it just looks so much better and feels soooooo much nicer, especially swimming.
I've gotten used to it now it feels weird when the hair grows back a bit in the winter.

If the Mrs is up for it give it a go! What's there to loose? Well apart from some hair...

Put some Johnson's baby lotion or baby oil on afterwards...fantastic...

I find myself now faced with the same dilema...g/f thinks baggies and hairy legs look cool but lycra short and the Wookie look don't cut it. She's all up for booking me a visit to the waxing table though...yeah or nay guys and gals?

I wouldn't shave my legs, the hairs hide all my scars picked up from my many years of tumbles in various sports and activities.

However if you have smooth legs why not show them.

Yes, of course I do. I would look a right muppet turning up at a time trial with hairy legs!

Having loads of hair sticking out from under a skinsuit looks SOOO wrong!

Skin suits - unless you sport a stomach like an alligator's back and have killer lats and delts, just don't wear them!

Been shaving mine a while now. Just felt like it. No excuses. Doesn't make you go any faster, but it feels faster...

It makes you look fast, even when stood still

Yeah! Nothing looks more stupid than hairy legs on a road cyclist. (Except dark coloured socks.)

I bought a pair of fairly expensive Pearl Izumi black sox when I started cycling a couple of years back. Never seen the light of day, because it's apparently such a heinous crime.

Is there any basis for this, or did someone just declare it one day, and it stuck?

I have some black socks, and wear them too, i have no shame :) Admittedly they're only ankle length, not Lance-alike knee stockings. I don't wear them as much as white though, the black means they keep getting mixed up in my normal socks for a start.

OK, so shave your legs - but where do you stop? Not a problem with cycling shorts but what about swimming etc?

    :?:

man with shaved legs equal much wrongness!!!

It makes an amusing event in a cafe, with a group of male roadies comparing the closeness of their latest shave.

Took a lady to the club dinner and she just thought it was the biggest turn on that most of the men there had shaven legs.

As I have a beard I had to buy some razors the next day . :D

  • I thought the reason behind shaved legs was to make it easier for the masseur/masseuse to work your muscles? :?

So I guess I am in the company of a bunch of fetishists then, as I doubt many of you have your own personal masseurs!

Having said that, I did shave my balls once.
There's 'owt like the feeling of peeling a sweating scrotum away from the inner thigh.

I thought you shaved so when you had a spill and had to take off the plaster you wouldn't take a clump of hair with it!!
