We have 3 cats Bear, Jasper and Millie. When we got our female tabby my son asked before we decided we were going to keep her, if he could call her Millie, so when we went to collect her my wife asked the people if they had already named her as some people do, of course he replies Millie, how wierd is that ....

Mange and Mr Beaujangles, now both sadly reside at the big cattery in the sky. Only survivor is Bee-Bee (or BB) the feline equivalent of a senile bag lady....

I used to have a cat called Huckle, and I have a friend who’s cat is called Dipity as in seren… Another friend had one called Mimas, one of the moons of Saturn, that one nearly became my forum name. One of our fellow forumers used to have two cats called Astrophe and Thode, but you'll have to ask him about them.

If it's any help these are cat names we've used (almost in chronological order):-

Midge,Tiggy, Bumper, Polo, Bisto, Batman, Jason, Bumble, Bacardi, Chippy, Theo, Jammy, Moysie, Rosie, Ronnie, Reggie, Monkey, Billy, Eddy and Sharon. Apologies to those I forgot.

Bisto was my favourite name (tabby too) - the poor cat lasted only a couple of months before eating someones slug pellets - awful.

Good cat toys? Anything that isn't bought, cats are like that. Rolled up tinfoil is good - Moysie used to fetch it like a dog would.

How Many? Oh my god.....what have you been doing......eating them!

It doesn't matter what you call it, it will end up getting called all sorts of things.
You know, in that baby voice thing.

We have a Westie called Archie.
    Which progressed to Hooba Barchie,
    then The Hoob,
    then itchy bitchy
    now sometimes just Bitch.
Or if we are being really sill, Itchy bitchy little flitchy!!!!!!

Nothing to do with cat names, but cat related:

I was taking a woman and her 5 year-old daughter to put their cat in the cattery before going on holiday.
Daughter: "Mum, will there be dogs at the cattery?" Mother: "I don't know. There might be - lots of catteries have kennels for dogs as well though. [pause] Why do you ask?" Daughter: "Because dogs like to eat cats." Mother: "Do they? I don't think I've ever seen a dog eating a cat. Why would a dog want to eat a cat?" Daughter: "Beacuse cats are made of ham!"

Aye, we had a silver tabby called Professor Longhair/The prof/ prof/cheesfeet (don't ask) and cheese. One of our current cats is a tortie called Ellie/ Ms Phanackerpants/ HissyKnickers/pants or minx.

You should really name a cat after living with it for a while.

Eddies other names are - Nugget, Tubbybucket, NumbNuts and Oy!
Sharons other names are - Shazneebutnobacon, Roly Poly little batfaced girl and Oy!

Our two were named when we had them from a local cat rescue. We have a little siamese called Canelle (Cinnammon) and a large white and tabby creature who also palmed himself on us and really likes laps and shoulders. He is called Voyou (Thug or hooligan) and we often call him thge Thug. He is always getting into fights and is rather motheaten but Canelle bosses him around.

Bastar* is what I called the cat I ran into last night at about 25mph during a time trial... straight over the bars in a one leg attached to the pedal cartwheel.. My groin is ripped and wrist knackered ..... that cat was still alive and running when I last saw it ...
For me the season is over...
For what its worth .. my daughter had a cat called Dave and it was the mankiest cat in West Yorkshire ......

Ours were titally berserk and hyperactive so got called "T3 " (Triiodothyronine in full) and T4 (Thyroxine) after the thyroid hormones.

A bit of an "in joke", but our Vet thought it hilarious - and appropriate!

  • My family have always had cats around the place. I wanted to call one of them 'Moodgie Spodgmogedees' cos I thought it sounded good, but got outvoted and he ended up being called 'Pickle'. I think that's why he was so fighty. We now have a little corker called 'Fred'.

I'm not really a fan of dogs but if I had one I'd called it 'Stay' so that I could stand in the park shouting 'Come here Stay, come here Stay, come here Stay' and really confuse the little thing!

Or for the keen road racer, how about owning several cats called 1st Cat, 2nd Cat, 3rd Cat & 4th Cat? Though to be strictly correct, there'd have to be another one called Elite, which ruins the joke a bit....

    Hi,
Anyway we cant decide on a name any ideas?

    Cheers

    Hi Pete, and welcome.

I use the same name for all cats - "smelly little flea bag". It's obvious I can't stand cats BUT I would never harm one and I do spend time playing with and grooming a couple of Persian Blues that my brother has.

    I prefer dogs.

My Exwife gave me a kitten for my birthday, I mean, really?

Anyway I called it Tikka, because that's what I wanted to do to it.

    She wasn't amused.

OK childhood cat was a silver tabby called Wilma (last in a long line of Flintstone named cats)

Uni cat was a striped tabby called spot

We now have 3 cats in the house:
    1) Jasmine- long haired black queen aka her highness
    2) Bandit - Short stocky and very heavy american short haired aka gobby the dwarf
    3) Tiger pops - blond tabby aka tiger lily, tigger, the ginger ninja!

oh and my ex-husband has another of my cats, very pale silver tabby (tigers big brother) called Rio De Janero (Rio or DJ for short) as he looked and acted like the bacardi cat as a kitten.

when we get rid of some of these cats I aim to have a cat called mog and a white west highland terrier called don (mog & don?!)
