Bike Saddle
Is there much difference in me having a lads one or a ladies one?
And any suggestions to the best ones to use, Chris is clueless.

apparently the specialized ones are fairly good, from the month i worked in a bike shop0
-
Bontrager do ladies specific ones, they're pretty good!a dirtbag of the most delightful variety0
-
Yes, quite a bit of difference, as our sit bones are in different places. But you never know, you might like a mans! Some spesh dealers offer a fitting service, and their website is excellent.0
-
How much is a decent on though?
So far I've managed to get my new bike together for free just about with help for the mbuk forumites.0 -
The more you pay, you tend to get better construction, lighter weight, but not always more comfort. I would be looking at spending 25 pounds. I may be wrong, but I think some shops offer a try first scheme.0

Chris is taking me to leisure lakes if you know of that shop to have a look next time I'm in Birmingham.0
-
Only seen the adverts, but hear good things about the place, and are a Spesh dealer IIRC.0

They are a Spesh dealer, and they have the BG fitting system there so I can get her measured up properly.0

Nice one, should sort you out nicely! The spesh saddles don't suit all though, so do try a few others.0
-
I'm gonna need a new saddle as well. The one that's on the bike now will so hurt my poor bottom.0
-
I find that all saddles take a little breaking in. Just got a Gobi Wingflex Ti, its a bit painful! But if the basic fit is ok, persevere for a while.0

Well, the one on there now is a proper man's saddle I think as I'm stealing most parts off my boyfriend's junkbike. But the saddle on my own bike is quite luxurious so I might get something similar to that. Surely no saddle's going to be comfy enough really - least pain possible is a good compromise for me.0

Either that or they have an earlier bedtime than we do because they have an actual life..0
-
Oh, don't be tempted by the giant sofa saddles - the rub like hell.0

BTW, I aint a stalker lol, just a sad obsession with all things bikes, as I am sure my WhatMTB friends will say! I practically live here lol.0
-
I just have a bad sleeping rhythm lately so there's no way I'd fall asleep now! Give me a month or two and it'll be a bike obsession as well if any of Yak's rubs off on me.0

Lol, insomnia is great. Not. Could never go out with another biker girl, luckily my GF doesnt know one end from the other! Biek that is...0

To be honest, he goes out with me because I'm sexy, clever, witty, funny, gorgeous and whatnot. But I live in Holland so I've biked all my life Promised I'd start mountainbiking too It's been 3 years now so I must've some other qualities. :P0
-
I'm not really a biker girl yet anyway....
Think Chris is still looking for my qualities...0 -
Lol, nothing wrong with them, we are still good friends, just incase she reads this! Actually I want to get the latest into cycling a bit, but she has some learning to do - she quizzed me about bike 'petals', then I realised she meant pedals.
Holland is obsessed! In a good way, it reminds me of York. Loads of cool cruisers.0 -
It's just different here! Cause it's so flat it's very easy to get around on a bike. Everyone aged 3-100 (depending on how healthy they are of course) bikes here. I don't know anyone without a bike!
So when Mat told me he 'bikes' I didn't really realise what he meant at first as I thought it was completely normal0 -

Yeah, some of those OAPs are fitter than me! York is the same, dead flat, and just 1000s of bikes everywhere.0

Love hills now I have moved back to Sheff after York Uni. About two miles from Wharncliffe, can't fault it.0
