Nice! We won't make it that far over, hoping to do the WC course at Champerey though!

    When are you heading out?

This'll be my second time in the PDS. 11 days to go and counting! We were hoping to get out to Whistler this year but a house purchase has kinda put that on hold!

I've heard Verbier is meant to be pretty good, make sure you get loads of pics!

I'm SJ by the way! :)

we were going to go out to whistler last year, but it ended up being too expensive compared to the alps. i'm sure you'll have fun when you eventually go though, some of those trails look mint!

will probably get a good few pics, but usually i don't get pics of the best bits, because i'm having too much fun riding them to get off! hoping to ride the bottom centre trail - looks mad! http://www.bikeverbier.com/photoalbum/v ... in-Verbier

good to meet you SJ - so where do you usually ride then?

It is pricey, that's the main problem! I think it'll be worth it though!

Those pics look good, especially No 8! How steep??!

Know what you mean about the lack of riding pics, I've recently bought myself a decent Digital SLR though and am hoping to get a couple of days worth of photography in during this years trip!

I'm in Hampshire and there's not much here riding wise (I ride mainly DH/Freeride) so we tend to travel to South Wales (Cwmcarn Mojo track) and Aston Hill/Chicksands most weekends. How about you?

i'm wondering if i've met or seen you before then - there aren't THAT many women i see also riding DH/freeride. i ride at chicky, aston, north downs or swinley. how old are you & what bike you got? you might recognise here... http://cassie5081.fotopic.net/c1066000.html

I don't recognise you, though I do recognise the Harlot Houlihan shorts! I've just ordered those! :D
I'm 26 and ride an Intense Uzzi VPX

that's one lovely bike, SJ! i'd love to have something that burly, but i also do a lot of riding up, and as i'm pretty light i can get away with a heckler with pikes for reasonably big stuff no sweat.

i'll look out for you in future. looking forward to trying the new ladder drop at chicky, although i hear that the log drop is still out of action :(

i live in north london. you should try swinley - if you like jumping, gaps, drops, stunts or single track it's all there. they have some short DH type runs too, like mini A-line with big berms :D

My partner lived just up the road from Swinley last year so we rode there quite a bit, I got a bit bored of it though to be honest, just got too used to it I think!

Haven't heard about the new ladder drop, I know they made the jump at the bottom of the main DH run enormous though!

that happens if you go to one place too often. a lot of the new stuff they've put in has been in the last 6 months or so though, so there maybe some nice surprises for you when you next visit.

a load of the shore was ripped out, plus the bull run (DH run you're talking about maybe? starts to the right of the log drop, with a drop at the top into the bowl?) was closed and the big and medium ladder drops. both ladders have been re-instated now, but the bull run & log drop are still closed. there's a pic on my pics of me mid-clearance of how the jump at the bottom used to be, but yeah, it got made into a weird dirtjump/gap kind of thing which kicked you up mega high as well as firing you 30ft long. will have to go up there some time i reckon.

Possibly may head up there on Sunday then, want to ride somewhere before we take the bikes apart to go away but don't have time to go far this weekend!

Sounds interesting, will get up there after France!

Hell no! I'll be riding a mountainbike. We're deforming Mat's Junkbike to my bike. Pink forks and everything :) Mah Pwetty is staying here in Holland. No way she can get up hills! :P

    Had wondered!

You need handlebars? I have a Tioga bar and stem going spare?

No, she's tiring enough to bike on at flat land :p I get stomach aches when even looking at a hill! She's more commuting though, I bike everywhere on her.

According to Mat we're fine on those, but thank you so much for the offer! He's telling me we need a brake. I should really just use my foot, Flintstones style!

No worries, don't have any brakes going spare at the mo! Flintstone stylee sounds like a better idea anyway!

I'm quite sure I don't need brakes though - I bet bumping into trees and falling off my bike would stop it quite well too. :P

If mat takes you up hill, you'll need a brake to stop you rolling backwards whilst you wait for him at the top.
    Advocate of disc brakes.

Just get 2.1 xc pro's instead of those truck things you have now. You'll notice a difference.

Sadly I do believe Mat will have to wait for me at hills. That is until I've gotten some more stamina. Like.. erm.. after a week or so.

I bet you have good stamina from shopping... I'm pretty knackered after shopping with Beth.

Beth: I'm looking for a black top
    Me: Er, there's one *Points*
Beth: Oh yes! *Runs* Come on!

    And repeat...

I wish I could go shopping more often. I need more clothes. And shoes.

Actually I don't have a huge amount of shoes. <ashamed>
