I'm pretty sure this is what I've got [:(!] probably from taking part in the Highclere Cyclosportif a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone else had one of these blighters from cycling [?] If so, how long did it take to bog off?

My wife - a GP, says unfortunately it is weeks to months. I had one from weight lifting and sadly that proves her right, but it did go.

Ouch!! You have my sympathies..had exactly the same in October... It took about 5 days to be bearable for everyday activities, and about 2 1/2 weeks before I could ride again.

On a positive note, it gave no more trouble after that.

You may have a more general problem... choose prunes, choose life.

What did you think of Highclere? I thought the route was great - especially all the idyllic villages in the first half

The route was very pretty, although by the end I was losing interest in the scenery. I thought it was very well organised. The marshals were very friendly and helpful, even the cadets, who I could forgive for being surly because I used to be one. I was especially impressed by the sign-posting. Although often there weren't any signs for miles, there was always one when you needed one. I don't think it did my body many favours though. Apart from the arse unpleasentness, it seems to have hurt my knees.
