Earl's neice becomes deputy Labour leader

This morning i filled the pan with excrement, and then flushed it away.
Two single acts, both of which have as much significance for the world as the election of yet another utterly corrupt and contemptible bourgeois politician seeking office and power.
Where's the shock Patrick? The Labour Party contains toffs , semi toffs, and acts completely in the interests of the toffs and semi toffs.
Ever was it thus.
Dinay wurry. The citadels are not about to crumble and you can continue making an overly healthy living from property shuffling for the building societies and banks.

Steady on spire - please bear in mind that Gordon Brown's right hand man, Sir Ronald Cohen, made his fortune out of private equity. Why should top earners be expected to pay the same rates of tax as school teachers?0 -
And, Patrick, another of Brown's closest advisors, Sue Nye, is married to multi-millionaire Gavyn Davies of Goldman Sachs.0

spire, dont fret, your social interests are safe with Gordon. Both you and Patrick can continue to economically exploit your employees with impunity, remaining wealthy at their expense.

Would it be appropriate at this time to mention that it doesn't make any difference who you vote for, the bloody government still gets in.

i see, your economic exploitation of other people's labour, which keeps them relatively poor, whilst you prosper, is doing them a favour?
Seems a bit irrational and i can't see me agreeing with it.

To be fair here, Marx's definition of "exploitation" was hardly lifted from the OED was it!
Under his definition, any surplus left over after renumerating the workers was "exploitation" wasn't it!
Still, come the revolution...[:D]

After paying ourselves, we're trying to build up a modest surplus to have the office repaired and redecorated. I must remember to label this the "exploitation" account.0 -
Yes, we also exploit our staff, forcing them to go to Christmas parties and summer balls, and making them accept an annual bonus - all paid for out of evil profits.0

The problem is socialists can't run businesses, or not in a capitalist world. Running a business to break even by sharing all profits with employees) is heading for failure as the competition uses it's profits to get the competitive edge by investing in business, keep any shares up etc,.
Take this away and the business has a higher chance of failure, meaning all the employees are out of work. Spread this approach across all businesses and lots of people are out of work.

i'm not in favour of giving the class enemy a wall to lean against whilst justice is being seen to be done.
Anyway, i've always favoured supporting the middle classes - as a rope supports a hanging man.

We've heard that from the socialists often enough.
"Now lads, redders is going to shoot me with that rather nice anti tank gun that a capitalist sold him. I'd like a hundred or so of his fellow socialists to line up behind me........."0 -
You are right. We'll have to go back to first principles and start with simple Common or Garden bludgeoning. Surely the simplest comrade can eventually get that right.[:D]

My tuppence worth to this thread.
'In this society we have socialism for the rich and free enterprise for the poor' Dr King
As for the irony of an aristocratic family member being deputy leader of the Labour. What is the irony, when you consider Karl Marx and Frederich Engels were from solidly middle class backgrounds.'Their views on the 'workers' were no doubt bankrupt if not patronising. Engels father owned a large profitable factory in the north, and the large living allowance given to his son, allowed him and Marx to engage in their pastime of discussing society and arguing that: 'the point is to change it'0
