Seemingly trivial things that cheer you up

Perhaps it would cheer you up that a terrible oversight meant that I had no butter for the turkey sandwiches. Quelle catastrophe!

Had a gang of long tailed tits swoop down into a garden tree and started clearing it of insects a few days ago. They weren't too timid either.
Not my pic, lovely looking birds.

Dry. Terribly dry.

...or that the photo of the golden eagle I saw wasn't that great? See, I really am trying.
The lush stuffing saved the sandwiches, BTW.

That's just a buzzard. Or a crow. Yes, a crow.

It's the black ice that will get you.
Although we all have rickets in the UK at the moment, the plus side of all the still foggy weather is that I have spent 3 hours on the Tamar this week and it has been like glass, just me the mist and some birds.

Yeah, still have to be careful as the nights are distinctly parky, and some pockets really hold the cold. But there are long stretches on the less minor roads that warm up and dry out quickly, and the road surfaces tend to make any anomalies obvious. But rule no.1 is not to head into any bits of road that you can't scope well at a speed greater than you could stop in on the road that you can see.
Yeah, dead still here too, as it was yesterday on my mountain. Makes a nice change. Glad that you've had some jolly boating weather.

That's pretty crazy for one week. I guess FB isn't dead yet, at least amongst middle-aged women in France.
