So dark it's impossible to tell if the outside has actually returned from the alternate universe yet. It just appears to be a void out there.
Early doors. Cuppa tea brewing. Coffee for the wife.
Snooze later most probably. Weather looks shocking for later today. Batten down the hatches and hunker down guys. Leave the bikes alone.

Morning
Darragh is causing headaches already what with the roof half done. It will be either leave the one half alone all membraned and battened down or tile it completely but then that gives them just 3 hours to tile one half of the roof as it's forecast rain at12.
Dark and calm at the moment. Beans is on his usual early morning jolly before the big long sleep. Currently appearing at roughly 3.30pm.
DW's more fractious by the day. It's a long term this term up to Xmas.
Today: not so much to do. Some Porker fettling or maybe even helping roofer blokes.

Morning Photonic, cba to post earlier as having a lie in. Off on a bus man's jolly later to a engineering refurbishment centre to drop of a museum piece and have a tour. Maybe discussing other things to plant a few a few seeds regarding young engineer training. Looking dry outside, neighbours builders enjoying the breif break in wetness to push on with granny annex. Have a nice wkend.

No storm here yet - rain rolls in early evening with winds to follows, then the whole weekend is shyte. Great timing. Anyhow, glad I ditched the bike at work yesterday as it was gopping on the way home.
A morning of work to get through then off to do a spot of virtual racing this afternoon, looks like we're off to Monza, Laguna Seca and the Red Bull Ring in Austria. Still got to choose the cars. At least the weather will be fine.

Something tail happy for the corkscrew for fun.
Jeremy Clarkson went around Laguna Seca in a non-modified NSX on the PS3 GT4 game and I was 4.5 secs quicker on the same set up.
Try: brake, throttle brake as you go up the hill and crest before the corkscrew instead of finding the braking point as you are light on the brakes going over that crest and going lickety split. So you brake up to the crest then throttle on and then brake again. By this time, you can set the car up perfectly for the left hand turn down the hill as you are not going too quickly. And actually, your line over that crest has to be bang on or you are on the wrong side of the track to get the best turn in. No good in traffic though as people do not expect you to be braking at that point before the crest.
If you are not in something really quick, it doesn't matter, one braking point is fine.
There, that's my two pence worth and i'll never forgive Mazda for changing the circuit slightly. Much preferred the old one.

I'll have a look on YouTube, ta - never done Laguna Seca before so we'd thought we'd try some new ones for a bit of fun.
It's like a track day version of Matrix - you can have whatever car you want (or least whatever they have on their system). British Touring Cars or the 911 GT3 Cup are usually decent choices.

Well, the roofers are 45 tiles of finishing this side. Every 2nd course is nailed on instead of the 3rd just to make it secure.

Getting ready for Darragh: greenhouse vents storm locked, barrow load of logs brought in, torch batteries getting charged, candles brought out....😉 Forecasting heavy rain from mid pm then the winds... Quite pleased that I'm getting strong enough to do things like load and trundle a barrow. Progress.

Next task is to get organised with local hospital physio dept, want to see both how I'm improving and what else I should bring into the exercise regime.

Yeah, looks interesting. Popped it in my basket. Unlikely I will get around to doing much more car detailing this side of Christmas now so might leave that till spring-ish time.
As long as it's not like Rain-X from the 90's. I had a really nice 16V 2ltr Mk2 Golf back then and my mate an E32 M3 Convertable. We both used Rain-X on our Windscreens but at the first hint of rain and the wipers went on it basically dispersed the water into micro-droplets all over the screen turning it milky! We couldn't remove it quick enough. Fine for sides and rear but never again on a windscreen.
I'll look into the Glaco products as this is the 1st time I've heard of them.
So yes, wife's car screen degreased (Screwfix wonder liquid that I use on everything), then Clay barred, then washed with Fairy liquid, then glass cutter on rotary mop, then Fairy liquid again, then Halfords Rain repellant liquid that I probably bought in 2001 and still have some left to use! But that was only on her rear screen of the Polo.
Time for lunch, a snooze, coffee and a couple of Tramadols since it's Friday!

Chilled start after another fail at pub avoidance last night. Good run with a nice sunrise, and meeting hell since the start, thankfully only a couple left.

Got a ride in, nippy and the roads are a bit mucky, but good getting out and enjoyed the soup at home. Weirdly calm here now, really feels like waiting for the weather to come in!

Afternoon
As it wasn’t raining, frosty or supposed to be windy I went for a 60 mile plus bike ride. However it was windier than the forecast suggested and therefore it was cooler than 5 degrees which was showing on the weather station. So now feeling a bit broken and wondering if I can get a nap in without Mrs W noticing.

First week of new job successfully completed. Knocking off at 3 today was good, went for a short wobble before it got dark. Supposed to be out for a drink in Twickenham shortly, do I ride over and risk the wind later?

Far superior to Rain x (as long as you use it right). It's part of the Soft99 Japanese car products.
Their Kiwami Fusso Soft99 sealant/waxes are just superb. If you clay bar a car and then put the sealant on, the water patterns on the hydrophobic surface are amazing. Great photographing opportunity. I once did my car and was caught in dream land as I stood in Lidl watching the drizzle which was perfect for a pattern that was like a 5p coin next to a small button and so on in perfect symmetry and regularity. Mrs P was wondering why I was staring out the window and had been trying to get my attention for I don't know how long.
For really speedy wax in almost any condition (but the paintwork needs to be spotless as it will not mask scratches and swirls), Bilt Hamber double speed wax.
Or for not quite so good paintwork, Bilt hamber cleanser polish Smells amazing and masks swirls. Nether last as long as the Fusso99.

Had a great afternoon of Matrix style simulated Racing. Monza in a Lambo Huracan GT3, Laguna Seca and The Red Bull Ring in a 911 GT3 and a bonus couple of laps round the Nurbrgring in a Z4.

And BTW thanks for the tip on the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca, a pig to get right but I was faster than my mate by half a second so I'm happy.
Mind you, the Red Bull ring was the favourite of the day - great fun and was being a bit of a hooligan by the end of the session.
