Seemingly trivial things that intrigue you

Maybe they should study how the tobacco industry have done it continually.

Jaguar aren't selling anything at the moment. Other than replacement DPFs.
They've even changed the Jaguar font. I bet it won't feature a cat any more or someshit.

The difference is Bud light actually had quite a good market position which they pissed away through a terrible advert. Jag have nothing of the sort, and unless they have some secret battery tech, are unlikely to much media coverage for crapping out another dull electric car.
Producing a terrible advert on the other hand...

Have to guess what the ad is selling if you don't know the brand already!

There are plenty of millennials who are maturing and coming into their inheritance.

Fair point. Starting from a zero market position (as they don't currently sell any cars) and kicking it off with an ad like that isn't a good start.
We'll see if the product is good but seems like they're more interested in DE&I.

Anyway, that's not a Jag ad....this is a Jag ad.

It probably shouldn't intrigue me, but the fact that an article like this can be of any interest in the US is just weird, if you think about how much of a non-issue it would be in the UK for the majority of the population (I'm trying to pick my words carefully there...)

Why would they want to buy an old man's car with it?

This isn't actually what millennials like though...

Absolutely, I think they'd be better off trying to become a timeless brand. This way they alienate the old codgers, and everyone else still thinks it's an old codgers' brand that is trying too hard.

What would a millennial buy?

A £100k luxury ev?

They're getting older. Although the Jag ad I posted further up the page doesn't seem to be for an old man's car.

The millennials I know who recently brought cars in the past few months,
Jag F Type
Couple of Focus STs
Some kia electric thing
Some Hyundai

A Jag, you say? Interesting, thought they were cars for old people...

No, just no.
And I won't discuss it further either.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I bet you are one of those people who doesn't piss in the sea aren't you.

Own shower fine. Shared shower at swimming pool. Just no! As I said to fellow showerer who did just that! Called him a "dirty f'ing bastard"
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Apparently you shouldn’t pee in a warm bath. It’s amazing what you learn on here.
0 -
Does that mean you should pee in a cold bath?

They've discontinued it because it doesn't make them any money. Only the SUV remains of their current range.
They're hoping to produce something that doesn't need to sell masses, but I think they'll fail.

I don’t know, I gave up reading after the bit about how you should pull your fore skin back to avoid infections and I certainly wouldn’t be reading the bit on ladies flaps if you are reading this at work.

Second hand Jags are still Jags. And looks like Millennials are buying.

Yup, it will be a disaster and they will sell the brand to Geely, who will sit on it for a decade and then bring it back as a competitor to Daewoo, with a neki Neko as a logo.

It seems that one person buying one isn't enough to save the car, no matter how good everyone says it is.

Just an example.

Meh, I don't think the "brand" was a particular issue in this case.
Possibly it was a little staid, but I'd say the lack of new products was much more serious, along with a somewhat lacking reputation for quality and reliability.
Possibly should have introduced a 1 series/a class competitor if they were after a younger market... Would have been nice to see their take on a fast smallish car.
I do find the outraged reaction from people funny though

It was more a comment aimed at somebody who thinks Jags are only for old people.
As for outrage, I think most people are either surprised at how shit the new advert is, or are taking the mick out of the wokey dokey 'creatives' who thought it was cool and edgy.
