    Been there, done that...

Fine sunny day, somewhat spoilt by the need to loiter about town while Mr WS had appointments. Couple of decent strolls to fill in the gaps.

Discussed repairs and replacement of some of the solar stuff on the house. Expensive up front, but probably worth doing even if the ROI period is borderline for our residency here.

    [Charles Manson?!]

    Morning

Brr again and it will be brr Friday and then it will be back to windy, mild and wet Saturday. Great. Prefer this bright and crispy.

Anyhoo, in the middle of replacing the flywheel on the Porker. Book time for the whole job is 16hrs. Off in 4hrs 31 mins, which is 90 mins quicker than the last time I had the thing off. So, so far so good.

Must get it done today 'cos it's Bistro in the sticks day tomorrow and Mrs Pinno has held me to it. Might get a black Friday deal on double helpings of cake.

Good luck to the tall and short and sick.

Waiting at the dentists for my wallet to have pain inflicted on it. Then onwards into work, hopefully I won't need anything done that leaves me dribbling out the side of my mouth.

Hotel pig based breakfast to ease sore shins from football last night.

long day of work snizzle, running with a pal later and then picking the wife up from the theatre later

Escaped lightly with a scale and polish. May consider vodka tonight though.

    Morning.

Good sleep at last! Hurrah. Woke up feeling like the indomitable Bertie Wooster. Called out to Jeeves for a lovely fried breakfast but all I got was a slap in the face and a cuppa tea. In bed.

Things to do. Washing. Online Bank tweaking. Transfer and ISAs. Black Friday shopping for tech. Nice. Clean hallway. Assess worn out runner and hardwood floor. Take measurements. Look at glass domes for Skeleton Clock. Look at perspex display case for ship.

Thank god for Steroids! Still on a high dose because of yesterday even though had no treatment. YeeHaaarr!

Don't try the M&S puff pastry ones! There's a lot of pastry, a lot of sugar and very little else.

Probably call at the gym on the way home and freeze for a bit.

Lovely day though, nice and crisp, debating a ride tomorrow around lunchtime once the sun is out and it's thawed a bit.

crust uniformly crusty, light, with no hint of sogginess

filling generous and chunky, definitely not out of a jar, with some sharpness, not overly sweet

    paired well with bubbly

    would have again

Morning all. Morning spent in a cherry picker outside in minus 🥶 god knows what. Luckily job completed so back in defrosting. Rest of the day being lazy followed by gentle run later. Just had peaches in syrup, yummy.

Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

  • Went for a nice walk up the hill at the back of the house, great clear sunny views, bracing temperature, might light the logburner now and get a cup of tea.

    Afternoon

Today started with another blocked drain and despite finding another manhole cover hidden under the gravel. I failed to clear the blockage despite getting twenty foot plus of rods in the drain from both ends. So its wait for the drain people to come out tomorrow with their camera.

After that I went for a bracing walk up the hill and did a circuit round the Roman camp. It would’ve have been rather cold on the knees if you were wearing a short skirt. I wonder if that wall built further North was an attempt to keep the marauding hoards out or the wind. Later is the pub apparently.
