Morning all. Nice lie in today for a change, only woke up because the bloody binman was so noisy. Fetch timber later for latest project and maybe walk the mutt. Trying to plan next year's bike adventures, so might be busy tonight. A few beers and mates will be involved in the planning. Enjoy the wkend, which is going to be like today. Grey.

    Zopiclone innit. Bliss.

Also had messages from plumber to sort out as soon as awake as he wasn't getting mine for some reason. He starts early so had to be on the case. Now arriving at 10am so it means I can rebuild the airing cupboard and put all the shit back later.

  • Bit of a lie-in , breakfast then up and pack booze and clothes for group weekend away in a big house, 3 days of eating, drinking and probably gentle (I.e. incredibly slow) strolling.

Plumber bloke installed a very large immersion tank with extra extra insulation. I did not do this job as I wanted Yorkshire fittings and access to compression fit in the event of failure would have been very awkward. Also, water here is acidic and compression fit was not the best option. He said that the bigger mass would assist in the wet back wood burner. Downside is that it takes 4 hrs + to initially heat but upside is that you can have hot water for 48 hours and if you re-light on successive days, it will heat up in less than 90 mins and the water pump will kick in. In that time, the heat from the wood burner has already taken the chill off the air. The other downside, is that I lost a huge space in the airing cupboard and re-installation of the slats was quite a jig saw.

Plumber bloke delayed. Now coming tomorrow. Not really a problem more of a slight inconvenience. I'm not due to go anywhere.

Might have a glass of vino tonight. Onc consultant said it was fine!

You are not supposed to drink when on Zopiclone. But then you are not supposed to drink on most meds but who listens that advice.

    Evening

A bit of rushed start this morning as Mrs W was paying the balance for the new carpets, she found there was a clearance sale on wood flooring. So a trip to flooring shop ensued and said flooring was purchased before the floor has been measured given it was 300 quid rather than 1300. We also seemed to have acquired 2 new wardrobes.

Managed a session on the board as it was getting to late to go for a ride. Later will be a visit to pub for the official reopening, I think last week was a dummy run.
