Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

I think it's generally the illegal electric bikes that makes it a bit tricky to catch them (that and the fact that they ride like they have a death wish)

Yeah, they're all illegal anyway as you are only supposed to be able to have electric assist i.e. you shouldn't be able to get it moving without pedalling as far as I'm aware. They need to start seizing and destroying these things when they enter the country as they're dangerous on several levels.

Anyone know a 'make a first generation smart meter go faulty' hack?

Makes me glad I've continued to ignore all the kind offers to get a smart meter to help 'lower my bills'. As I've said before the only way the meter helps you save is if you are running things you don't need and if you are doing that without realising it costs money you're probably a bit thick to understand the smart meter anyway. Other than that all it would do is save me 5 minutes each month reading the meters, uploading the results and playing spin the wheel.

Ah, now that might not be a bad call. I could first threaten to do that, to see what response I get from EDF. They might just tell me "allez se faire foutre", of course.

There's a guy riding around where I work on an electric scooter (childs toy type rather than Vespa type) that tops 30mph. He's passed me when I'm at 25mph on the bike and I've seen him pass cars on the A312. I have no idea how you stop something that unstable in a hurry from those speeds, but I suspect that's going to be messy eventually when a large heavy object stopes it very quickly. Things like that are just plain dangerous.

Someone recommend Octopus to Trumpet. You could get £50 quid each!

I'm on smart metering, with EDF.

They put it in as it was the only way that I could have economy 7 due to the old E7 being discontinued. It used to work by a radio signal down the mains to operate the switch.

All was gong well, I thought. But when I looked at the bill one day I realised that I was only being charged for gas. It turns out that the chap who installed the meter put the wrong meter type in the data base, and the system couldn't recognize the data being sent to it. This had been happening for over a year.

All was sorted out, no damage done. All the readings were there etc.

I have one of those displays, I've turned it off. The tyranny of the thing was driving me up the wall. i could afford the power before, I can afford it now, I'd rather not be told every second that I'm using too much, thank you!
