Crankset replacement

Hi There

i am having to replace my Crankset, as well as the BB as it’s making a few noises, on my Halfords Carerra TDF, as it’s well worn, I’m only changing like for like, not worth upgrading as it’s not my best bike (just my commuter/work bike). Looking at the specs it says it the BB needs to be BB-UN300 110 axle length. I changed the BB before, the one I took out and replaced was a 118 spindle length, so should I go with the official spec off the Shimano website or just carry on with the 118 length.

It is a Shimano Tourney FC A070 50/34 I’m changing

If the spec for the cranks is 110mm, go with that, otherwise the chain line will be rubbish.

Thanks I was thinking going with the spec, was just wondering why the original BB was longer with exactly the same one
