Has Pog mentally broken the rest of the peloton?

Is he that superior or is it no one will chase. It's his thing atm to go long range. Get the gap then settle into his rhythm but surely 2 or 3 teams can work together to bring him back or is the UAE just paying everybody off? Madness they all seem to accept defeat once that gap is established

Certainly looks that way.

It was the days of double stages at the tour. In 1970 there was 29 stages compared to 21 these days

Much as I like Pog it’s getting boring now! In recent years the dominant riders like Sagan have struggled as no-one would work with them and they’d chase him whenever he made a move. Pog just seems able to ride away at will. MVDP and Remco are pretty good at going long too but Pog is just another level.

These last two races just haven't had the flat sections where the teams can pull time vack - today when he went it was all steep up or down, there's just not the drafting benefit.

Also, was the last rider who tried to get ahead of the game and beat him to the punch Mads P in Flanders last year? I know it didn't work in the end (3rd place and Pog won) but maybe not just waiting for him to attack could be worth a try?

I am still in my stunned wonder phase

No Pog in Paris-Tours, but Mads P is trying to go long anyway. Wet gravel sections hopefully making it hard for the pure sprinters but he wants to split the race up

Some sub-par handling on hopping over a roundabout there from some FDJ and AG2R. Was pretty unnecessary and daft in this damp really

A lad who I rode with a lot when he was at school with my boy is riding the U23s Paris Tour today.
Looks very mucky!

Looks like this
'
Mads P had Vacek come up but got dropped, it's Vacek and Laporte 25-30" ahead of the peloton with 18km to go.
At least that's what they tell us, they all look like swamp monsters

Laporte takes it from Vacek in a bit of a comedy two up sprint
Philipsen takes third in the sprint from the very reduced bunch

Absolutely chucking it down in the women's Tre Valli Varesine. Not sure if there's any real difference between Lago Varese and the air above it, more a gentle phase transition.

Cédrine Kerbaol (Ceratizit) won the women's, only 35 riders finished
Saw there were some issues with cars on the course as well

Just seen some footage which suggests that Pog called it off with the support of other teams.

Just seen that, a 10k TT, she beat Lopecky and Ellen van Dijk, her first WT win (somehow surprising, though she is still only 20)

Freddy Maertens got 20 GT stage wins in 1977 (13 Vuelta, 7 Giro).
That's more than 12

I may have miscounted slightly but Petacchi won 15 GT stages in 2003 (across all three races) and then another 13 the next year in the Giro and Vuelta.

Elisa Longo Borghini took the Giro dell'Emilia, her third? win at the event. Evita Muzik was second, 9' behind.

Weirdly looks like Eurosport aren't showing Lombardy live on TV (deferring instead to the mighty Wuhan Open snooker). Seems odd for the last big race of the season and final monument. It is of course live from the gun on Discovery+ for those who have it.

Lombardia ( and Liege for that matter) don't get the full treatment from Discovery/Eurosport like MSR, Flanders & PR get.
