Nice walk, deal with the money grabbing SIL and BIL who have a list and pictures of everything that was in the MIL house (down to washing line) forgetting we moved her from a 4 bedroom house to a 1 bedroom house a year and a half ago (they haven’t visited her in that time).

Morning all. A chilly parkrun planned shortly in the icy sun. Yep frost on the ground, just. Good luck Mr T, been there sorting my late grans estate out. Made a point of keeping away from the klingon relatives and her so called for quite a while to save my sanity. Just remember cross the T,s and dot the 👀,s and keep copies / proof of everything. Goodluck. Enjoy the wkend all.

    Morning

Chilly. Sunny here. Dropping lad back to uni today. It'll be empty with both now gone.

With any luck, when the dust has settled and the divisors have been put away, they won't have any much reason to visit.

    Coffee...

Bit cloudy with some light rain. It is supposed to clear up so I shall have to be patient.

Need to grab this gap in the rain to get a ride in later on. Might require a bit more than shorts and short sleeves. Coffee and a few jobs first.

in my long term mission to eliminate most physical media, more nas fiddling

been trying plex media server, but it's really clunky, now trying roon, waaaaay slicker, but it doesn't serve video (though it'll play the audio), so likely will keep both

any opinions on qobuz vs. tidal? leaning towards the former

    Afternoon.

Just had a stroll in to town to get a few things including some new oven gloves as I managed to set fire to the ones here last night.

I was going to go for a ride but I think I’ll save myself as I’ve arranged to go out with a new group tomorrow.

I quit using Tidal as had endless buffering issues with the stream, and then Apple Music introduced much higher res option anyway so Tidal became redundant.. They went all in with Meridian on the MQA formatting which seems to have faded away, and I never had a DAC with that capability. Qobuz seems to be used by plenty of the "serious" listening fans, but dunno what their catalog is like?

Roon seems to be the main choice in the audio world these days too for library and file management, but clueless about video options.

Why is the A34 into Oxford so shite? It's always bloody awful. 2.5 hours to get in 1.5 hours to go home. Queues Northbound even worse when I went past on way home.

Advice from the hifi buffs on here. I've got an old ish Sony gigaduke nas35 that I've got my music collection on that I want to listen to using my Sony Bluetooth earbuds. I used to have have some sennheiser wireless headphones that weren't to bad but prone to interference. I've got 3.5 audio output that I can use but having tried a couple of so called Bluetooth transmitters to no avail. Any ideas ?. Please.

what doesn't work with the bt transmitters?

you may need to check they the right generation of bt to match the sony and support the same profiles

The earbuds don't pick up the signal from the BT transmitter. Supposedly same generation. TBH it's not a biggy as it's in a different room to the tv so I can leave the OH watching he shizzle and I can listen in peace.
