MVDP has lost a shed load of weight.

French efficiency finally gets the message over.
Was Zolder the only bid for these champs?
I can’t believe that the UCI would pick a course this dull, if there were other options.

Blimey, he looks very svelte. He's taking the world's defence seriously there. Wonder if he'll have a crack at Lombardia as well now he's featherweight - he's only ridden it once and got tenth (2020)

It's the UEC European Championships, not UCI.....They go to who offers the most money.

Are they doing the same cobbled sections as the U23s?

He's said worlds will be his last race of the season

Cobbled sector Op de Kriezel which they are doing three times today (sectors 3, 5 and 7) were where the winning breaks went in both the junior and U23 men's races. Hopefully, we'll see some attacks there.

MVDP attacks in the crosswinds with just 112kms to go.

All back together 100km to go

Yeah, I read that he said he needed to get the weight down to have any chance in Zurich.

At least Denmark are making the race a bit more than a procession to the the sprint.

A Low Countries lockout.

Merlier, Kooij, Mihkels

Yup.
From the overhead, Philipsen stopped peddling and got done by a bike throw.

All that work by Italy for nothing, not even a top 10 spot. Milan was 13th.

I don't care if it's a chipper. I have had the 2nd best week.
Hasselt is stunning.
Somehow I still have a voice.
I got to interview my man crush Thor Hushovd.
I met the screaming kid of Kappelmuur.
It's been Schots Weekend here in Limburg too. Expect lots Peat & Diesel to be played at Flandrian CX races this season, The finish line sound guys fell in love with them.

Just done a Google images search on Hasselt. Looks great. Wish I had an excuse to go.

The screaming kid of Kapelmuur? I've not noticed him for a couple of years now, has he still been there, same pose? Good to hear he's still alive at any rate 😅

He's older... Much older 😂
I got introduced to him in the VIP ... So he's a changed chap.
Later trying and failing to explain who is was to my GF we were taking pics doing the pose and screaming.
I basically said he was a much louder amd enthusiastic version of me who became a viral sensation.
She could not compute louder and more enthusiastic than me.

Looks like he could still get a top 10 in any sprint.
He was there in Uno X branded gear. He's their General Manager. So I assume assisting the Norwegian national team.
Word is Kristoff jnr is gonna be faster than his bro.

I didn't know he was Uno x ...I'm.out the loop badly

My biggest take away from this week...
On the 2 years I did Womens Tour of Britain the crowds were a really good size, especially the weekends. Approx 1/3 the size of the Mens ToB at finishes.
Here in Flanders the crowds for the womens race on Saturday were big... BUT... omg I was not prepared for the sheer size difference on the Sunday for the mens race.
I'd say somewhere between ten & twenty times bigger at the finish, and untold multiples around the course.
That's no exaggeration. For the females VIP had only a couple of hundred people. For the men it was sold out with over 3000 folk.

Was that because no one played “ My Island “ at the Women’s race.🤣🤣

The dog is on the window the cat is on the floor and everybody's having a party on the MUUR
