  • The whole squad looks like: who wants a free trip home, and does anyone fancy hanging out with their cousin for a week?

What do think of Dr Hutch as a commentator, to me he has a good attention to detail but he seems a bit dry compared to the column he writes.

  • Hutch isn’t Hatch imo.

    Dry is being polite.

Thank goodness the race isn’t quite as dull.

  • For a 2 man break, the boys have done good. Going to make it half way around the final lap, I reckon.

Jan Tratnik off to UAE in the near future?

Interesting race. As in Quebec looking European rather than N American. Never been there, been in Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary etc.

Oh yeah there was a race going on... 😉

  • Ineos managed to get one rider in the first 50…..in 50th. There’s a tunnel at the end of the (Sky) light.

Quebec city is the complete antithesis of N. America. Well, the old town is. Preferred it to the three you mention.

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I can see my old apartment there.

I also saw Greg Lemond go down that road in the opposite direction 35 years ago when the route stuck to the city centre.

But there's still 2 weeks to go .....

..... oh, hang on, his form will be even better by then!

    Just seen this:

Tadej Pogacar finished in 7th place at Grand Prix Cycliste de Quebec, his first loss in a non-stage race since 2024 Milano-Sanremo (181 days ago). It was Pogacar's lowest result in a non-stage race (ie excl. ITTs, GT stages) since the Worlds Road Race in 2022 (719 days ago).

  • Needs an asterisk for his DNF last year really...

He's only raced world tour races this year, and won 6 out of 8. Crazy numbers really.

Must be time for a 'Is Pogacar Finished?' thread surely?

Cat Ferguson takes her first pro win in the opening stage of the Tour de la Semois in Belgium.

  • Mauri Vansevenant won today’s Queen stage of the tour of Luxembourg and who, according to Rob “Hyperbole” Hatch, was in the form of his life.

Hirschi couldn’t quite get rid of MVDP, as he Gaudu, Lemmen and Kelderman failed to cooperate and exploit the gap they had created.

Formolo was disqualifed (he'd finished 2nd, 18 seconds behind Vansevenant) for using the banned supertuck position on the final descent.

MVDP clearly wanting a hard training ride today, ahead of his World's defence next Sunday; he's currently solo ahead of a 16-rider group that has 35 seconds on the peloton with 121 kms still to go in today's final stage of the Tour of Luxembourg.

  • The Cat Killer takes the GC as MVDP and Mads Pedersen sprint out the lower positions of the stage top 10, which was won by David Gaudu.

UAE and Vansevenant miss out on the podium.

Max Poole takes his first pro win in Stage 3 of the Tour of Langkawi. He takes the overall lead too.

Meanwhile, Cat Ferguson takes her second pro win at Binche-Chimay-Binche pour Dames.

That was very impressive from Ferguson, be very interesting to see how she performs against the worlds best as she gets older, and presumably gets even stronger.

Just watched her interview, so humble and modest.
