Meh, hounds, work then off to the hospice for a family meeting where we think we are going to be told the MIL is dying quick enough and they are going to move her into a home 🙄

Isn’t - sorry rather a shoot sleep!

We had with Mrs W mum and not dying enough for funding for the home. It cost over a grand a week, fortunately the Macmillian nurse got that sorted after 2 weeks.

Auld Reekie, coffee out then garden sorting. Sunny!

Macmillan is just a brilliant organisation. Leukaemia care society are just pants. I have raised money for both and received monies from both though LCS really didn't assist much.

Autumn is here as I'm sitting here wondering whether to be a Southern softie and put the heater on in the cave. But will resist for now. Work has been strangely quiet this morning, which isn't a bad thing. More coffee...

Afternoon.
Out with Boomers today but cut the ride short when it started pissing down after lunch. Which wasn’t very pleasant given the current drop in temperature. Felt less of a wimp when it started hailing just after I got home. Might have do some packing later as the removal company are coming on Friday and Monday although we won’t be moving out till a week on Friday. Not sure where we are going to be living as the property we are buying won’t have the searches completed for then.
Good job we didn’t get rid of the ⛺️.

Might need a stove.in your tent!

That looks like it might cost more than the house we are buying.

Hopefully summer will have returned by next week.🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just your average type of day here, rain, sun, cloudy, thoughts of lighting the wood burner all rolled into 8 hours.
Short run tonight, 5k I think and hopefully an early night.

Had our heating on for a week, been down to 5c at night.

Just put ours on in time for Mrs W’s return from work.

Coincidentally the forecast for tonight says it'll drop to 5c here overnight. Might put my full finger gloves on for tomorrow's ride.
And we got our palm tree planted today, just in time...

Nope, no fires here yet. Must be the super insulation I installed. 😁

Or you have become a true Scot.

Waay off that. When I renovated this house, I spent £££££'s on insulation and damp proofing. It's now a very dry and warm house.

(Let's see if this type of proper speak gets auto deleted again. Oh, hang on, this sentence means...)
A luvverly day with the Volunteers team in the Walled Garden doing all sorts. And blagging all sorts. Just enjoyed my (first in a long time) corn on the cob, picked para mi n hours ago. So sweet and crunchy. And more veggies from there to follow.
Daughter #1 and granddaughter #1 are now home from the maternity unit, all going well. I shall spook the little one this weekend 😍, add more chaos to their new world order 😉
Right, get back to the kitchen. Aside: from lots of chat today I'm almost convinced to go down the air fryer route / wormhole... tbc

I could have meant several things by that suggestion 😉

Air fryer = good idea. Got one a few months: really pretty handy and does quite a few types of food well.

air fryers are excellent, first got one about three years ago, for cooking lots/different timing/heat, get two
don't think this is paywalled... https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-air-fryer/ ...it's nyt but most brands are multinational
