Wotcha!
Internet probs continue until new hub arrives tomorrow.
However, the bluetooth tethering is remarkably good. Even streamed the cycling and Episode 12, series 2 of Hill St Blues.
Pi$$ed down all day yesterday and so far today, it's not looking too bad but that is relative.
Must arrange blood test. It's probably mowstly coffee...

Massive storm last night, hopefully it knocked out a few mozzies. Shopping and pool based lazing later.

Possibly a day with little rain, obviously something outdoor to be done.

As soon as it's dry enough...
So many outdoor jobs to do so as soon as there is a good day, instead of pedalling, I have to get on with the backlog instead.

Legs still aching a bit after yesterdays efforts, found some new hilly bits. Tip trip, dog walk and a few minor jobs on the cards - apart from that a couple of cups of coffee and chill...

Car collected from town after a decent night out, family back later so will go straight to see the MIL - hopefully still there but after the last two days visits I’m worried.
our for dinner at friends later

Afternoon folks,
Slow start was enjoyed, not feeling too bad given the amount of beer consumed yesterday. Good bash at the pub with lots of people there, ran out of a few beers but we didn't quite drink them dry.
Need to fix the car today, replacing the rear light after the incident with the tree. My mosaic effect is holding up, but does look rather shabby.
Hope all goes as well as can be TLW.
Onwards and upwards...

Evening
Not done a lot today, went in to town with Mrs W this morning. Then mostly searched the tinterweb for Sidi mega shoes size 42.5. Which now appear to be unavailable in the UK. Another plus for brexit.

I found Fizik equal if not better then the Sidi's. I do have a pair of Genius 5 which are in great condition if you are interested. I believe they are 42.5 as well.

The mega versions are the wider ones. I know Fizak and Lake do wide versions but I’ve not tried those on so I don’t know my size. But when you look at shops that sell cycling shoes they seem to have very little stock and sizes, so you can’t even go to try some on.

fwiw i settled on bonts years ago, vaypor s plus, they can be heat adjusted, spare bits are available so unless you damage the body they go on forever, wide fittings available, and they do a version with speedplay sole
their measuring/sizing guide is accurate (just be sure to use the guide matching the model, as it varies), i order direct from australia and fit is perfect

The mere mention of second hand shoes makes my toes curl…

What does the thought of second hand bib shorts do to you?
seanoconn - gruagach craic!1 -
I’ve sold bib shorts that I’ve worn. Some believe in the power of washing clothes I guess.

^This. I’ve never really understood the phobia people have about second hand clothing, provided it has been washed. How the hell do these folk get on when they stay at a hotel for example? Every bath towel will have been used to dry probably a few hundred bodies. What’s the difference?

then there's all all the stuff in hotel rooms that just gets refolded as long as it looks ok, and of course, seats on aircraft, they don't even get a wipedown after the last sweaty or worse occupant

I remember someone selling a pair of bib shorts on here that had a skid mark on the pad 😳
They got really stroppy when it was pointed out. I certainly wouldn't buy those

😄 Might be good for a laugh if someone can find that thread.

It was that Irish guy who worked as a cycle guide in Spain. He claimed it was made up and malicious and ruining his business.

Glad someone else remembers it, my recollection of it is pretty vague. He's the one that posted pictures, was it not visible in the pictures, or did someone say another pair he sold had the skid marks?

I just remember how outraged he was at the suggestion that he sold some shorts with skid marks and then lots of people just started taking the piss.
