Morning all. Family day out doing something different. Shooting and hovercraft driving / piloting. Then back home for family tea and beers. Weather gods currently happy around here as sunny and not to breezy. Wonder how Mr TLW got on.

    TLW is doing good,

    Morning bashi-bazouks and ectoplasms

Yep, sunny here too and far less windy than yesterday, so today would have been the better day for a decent pedal. Typical. Got shredded yesterday in the wind.

May catch up with TLW as he is still within very reasonable Porker jolly distance.

Still tired of account of junior waking early due to some mozzie bites giving her a bit of grief. Got some catching up to do after the last few days away, then brace myself for the return to work.

Bad news tlw. Still, now you can enjoy a relaxing recovery in the sophisticated environs of Sanquhar. 😉

That's dull, but you still did bloody well getting as far as you did given that no sane person would entertain it. Now get some rest you damned fool

    Afternoon

Now back in sunny Yorkshire after yesterdays trek across a bit of Europe. Getting on and off ferries is not much fun these days with all the passport checking and stamping. Now mostly unpacked so it might be a ride in a bit.

That's a bu**er tlw, but at least you've saved yourself from more suffering.

Had to google trench foot 'a type of foot damage caused by prolonged exposure to cold, damp and sometimes unsanitary conditions'. May they shouldn't hold the next one in Scotland then? 😊

ride ended abruptly after about 70km, hurtling along on top of the highest road* something very bad seemed to go wrong with the chain and i braked heroically

the rear hanger had decided to commit suicide, fortunately the rd didn't hit the spokes, just scraped on the road a bit

managed to get a taxi to find me and trundle back to the other end of the island

metal fatigue i think, fitted the spare, battery on the rd has a scrape, everything else seems ok

    phew

look after your toes tlw, you only have 12

*presumably to do with it being the high road and the north of the island, there are thistles, just like scotland

Doubt it Mr T, we're not into feet fetishism. Epic run eitherway, well done.
