Slightly surprised to hear Jonas say he was hoping Pog would give him it. With 2 TdF GC wins and a stage already in this race I wouldn’t have thought he’d want a gift even if offered.

You know he does have a sense of humour, even if the British press don't tend to get it? 😅
(For the record, I've not heard that interview in English, I'd be surprised if he thought he was going to get a gift or wanted one)

Think he was serious. He did go on to say he didn’t expect him to and he probably wouldn’t in the same situation.
He also seemed today to have accepted how well he has done after recovering from serious injury.

The problem in gifting a stage is in making it look like you haven’t gifted it and as soon as Pog started to sprint Jonas had nothing unfortunately. It would have been so obvious it would just have looked like he was being patronising.

Not getting to 36 stages by giving them away, is he?

Remco getting a bit defensive when interviewed. I think he had a fair point, he tried but ultimately wasn’t good enough to take back time.

Quite surprised how well Jonas did today. Not sure who I'd put my money on for 2025.

It's been better than you could hope for in that respect. He's looked good but not had three weeks in him, but pog looks better than ever too.

I'm now moving to the opinion that Pog should have gifted it as an insult

Seven minutes to spare, and gets to retire from the Tour on his own terms. Just needs to remember there's still a cut off tomorrow, so not to showboat too much.

What are the odds on him waiting for Ballerini, then the two of them doing a two up to the finish?

Joking aside, going off first on a challenging course he may need to be careful although the time cuts are pretty generous and I can’t recall anyone getting eliminated on a TT (someone will no doubt give a long list now).

2024 Pogacar or 2023 Vingegaard?

I think a lot depends on the form of the domestiques who have rescued a few GT wins for Visma o ver the last couple of years.
Head to head, 2024 Pogi is a better rider than 2023 Jonas, but 2023 Jonas had his key domestiques on top, top form too.

The team needed to learn a few things too . They have never been in that position...he had enough cushion to 4th .to not try would leave a only if question.

No more classless than Jorgensen's actions earlier today. Visma are owed zilch by the other teams or riders. I get the impression the team is not popular in the peloton.

Visma saved his second place on stage 17 ...they did ok for the B team

He'll be going off second, no? Ballerini is first to start as current lanterne rouge.

Looking how easy Pog has made this Tour look, albeit by a recovering Vin. It's been a bit of a training tour for him. I still think this is the perfect, might not get it again chance of a monumental historic triple.

He'll be waiting a bloody long time. Ballerini goes off first.
(I see Andy P got there first, correctly)

He has to go for it.

I think that's just projection. And why do you think Jorgenson - who seems like a genuinely nice guy - was classless? You don't think Carapaz might have done something to deserve that?

Meh, he could have pulled a Sagan wheelie.

Jorgensen wasn't involved in the competition and nor was his team leader.
Do suggest what Carapaz might have done to deserve Jorgensen taking the extra point unnecessarily.

If he'd taken turns he might have lost the sprint again. I think you do what gives you the best chance of winning which is what he did.
