Bit disappointed Remco didn't even try to shift Vingers.
Don't really want the guy immediately ahead of your on GC shaking your hand for doing a bloody good turn. Come on Remco - Vingers would destroy you if he had the chance!

It's hard to believe!

No, I've picked Pog for PTP but Remco can win on Sunday.

-
The Pog has to start easing up a bit with the Vuelta round the corner.

Pog says he will let breakaway win tomorrow, yay!

He did try though, a few times. Just couldn't make it stick.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.1 -
You've got to question why they sent Van Aert and Lemmen up the road yesterday if their goal was to win the race today.

DK TV2 standing around the flamme rouge, just over 3 mins left on the countdown and Demare hadn't been past yet. He's not making it

The goal there was to stop them losing it there and then. Turned out pretty well that he had guys up the road when Pog and Remco went

Cavendish in in 43:something, so well within the time limit.

Demare gets clapped home OTL.
He should probably have held onto a car...

He means yesterday when Lemmen finished in the second group and Van Aert in the third, not the stage on Wednesday when Jonas was getting distanced and had Van Aert and Benoot to pull him back.
1 -
Van Aert's goal yesterday was stage win.
The stage that he helped out was two days ago to superdeduperdy. That was the stage that seems to have decided it for them to go for stage wins for the others.

He just needs to survive tomorrow and then do a celebration ride on Sunday. If he takes as much time as he can he will hopefully take the Lanterne in the process. That will confuse all the casual fans trying to understand how he can be so good if he finishes last.

Seems about right ....they got back footed by remco abd went defense too as guys up the road was a twofer

Oops, yeah, my mistake.

I think when Visma look back on this Tour they'll be pleased they got on the podium and even made it competitive for a stage with a decent stage win.
Remarkable turnaround for Vingegaard and I would not have thought he could get on the podium this Tour after that accident.
We've seen with lots of riders how hard it is to come back from injury. Not to be underestimated.
1 -
Yeah, I agree completely. I think we (well definitely me) are being a bit harsh on them expecting Vingegaard to try and win. Given where he was 3 months ago, it's been one hell of a comeback and the team have done incredibly well to support him in getting a podium place.

Yeah he showed just enough flashes of peak Vingegaard that we had hope he could take the fight to a renewed Pog and I think a lot of the criticism of Vingegaard is really born out of disappointment for him.
0 -
The stage where he came back and surprised pog must have given them hope.
It's a ridiculous achievement to even start - to be second (assuming he keeps it tomorrow) and in a position where anyone could think it possible he could challenge is quite amazing.

I don't think losing ayuso and almeida would have had much impact on this performance.

Does anyone believe him?

Pog is so far ahead both in time and form that he should go all out to win king of mountains tomorrow.
UAE tomorrow can just ride a team time trial from the start so POG can sprint at the 1st cat2 then once field is thinned to just the GC contenders and there domestics he can just follow any attack and pickup full points to easily overhaul Carapaz.
He can burn the rest of the team doors to stop any breaks as won't need them.
Can see him soloing away on penultimate climb and winning by both 5 minutes

Do you really think he gives a damn about winning the mountains jersey?
