I wonder if part of the issue is that the French teams have had some success so don't need to TV time?

One other thing that has puzzled me with this year's route is that they had the first big mountain stage and TT on weekdays and then had a bit of a boring stage on the second Saturday.

I remember loads of breakaways (once formed) last year. My memory could be wrong though. 😉

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Kirby has turned up and immediately talks about the possibility of the stage being stopped due to bad weather and negative stuff about the gravel stage.

    My day is complete.

I still dislike the "new" colour of the green jersey.

Do we have an actual break?

    Nope, it’s a dummy.

    37kph in the first hour.

Yes, it's not that they weren't allowed to go it was just that they were never allowed to get a decent gap and it was rarely in doubt that they would get caught. It has been the same in most GTs in the last few years so now people can't be bothered.

Anyway, the right bribes have presumably been offered for a few teams and some riders have gone up the road although the second group have given up.

Philipsen with another dodgy sprint (or maybe not his fault on this occasion).

Especially as there seem to be 3 or 4 teams wearing a similar shade.

They always tell us the cost reflects the R&D - well in that case just stick with the same design for 4-5 years and bang S-Works out for a few grand I might be tempted.

Why is the ticker showing Jonas at 1 minute from the peloton?

I had a look back and by my reckoning there were 7 breakaway wins last year. 1/3 stages sounds decent.

That said, they were mostly in the last two weeks.
