Scales are still stuck down on the left side though.
You'd think someone could come up with a new strategy other than Yebbut taxes/Corbyn/Rayner. Pitiful.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
‘This isn’t a referendum on past performance it’s about how the country will be run in future’ or words to that effect. Why does Sunak think people will believe he is capable of improving on how they’ve performed under his leadership so far?

That they can't use anything from their 14 years in power, nor offer anything positive for a vision for the future tells us why they are in such a dire position. Nothing, nada, zilch. Norwegian Blue territory - they are just nailed to the perch.

Haha, I've already got two very left-wing FB friends bemoaning the expected victory of 'Tory' Starmer, and saying how terrible it is that he's persuaded ex Tory voters to vote for Labour.

The fringes of politics are inhabited by the intellectually bereft I am afraid.

Bizarre Tory letter doing the rounds where they've written to you pretending to be from the future.
0 -
That's Stevo, I think.

Well, given that Tory diehards are stuck in the past, that seems a plausible tactic.

Is it like a sliding doors thing where under Labour we are living in a dystopian world whilst the Tory version has everyone enjoying milk and honey whilst riding unicorns?

Seems as if most of Cake Stop sees it the other way round.

Apparently you/I/we really regret voting for reform.

I'm pretty sure it has been said ad nauseum that most people are just hoping for it to be less bad and would rather take a chance on what may happen versus what we've already seen happen.

Copyright, to be precise.

Well they are actually right on something, I would very much regret that!

I for one have said ad nauseum that I am just hoping for it to be less bad and would rather take a chance on what may happen versus what we've already seen happen.

You have to admit it is perfectly paired with 'it's done now so may as well get on with it'.

I finally got the leaflet from the Conservatives (a couple of days after I voted).
I'm a little surprised that the candidate grew up in Italy as a child refugee from Albania, less surprised that one of her policies is more traffic in Richmond Park.
Also not surprised that it has a picture of Keir Starmer on it, but not one of Rishi Sunak.

Based on what? Not seen anyone suggesting that apart from you. I think most of us just see it as awaiting the inevitable.
I have said that Labour's proposals to reform Green Belt planning restrictions are somewhat promising. I think you agreed but I might have misremembered. Obviously remains to be seen if that materialises and the detail is critical.

Sounds very similar to the one I received yesterday and posted a picture of last night. No branding other than the minimum amount I assume is required by the Electoral Commission. Most of the 'policies' related to devolved powers that a Westminster MP has no influence over (transport policy, planning, farming) and the rest was dedicated to how scary a Labour Government will be.

The latest Tory attack on Starmer is because he has said he doesn't work after 6pm on a Friday as he takes his kids to things. I guess they struggle with the idea of a father wanting to actually spend time with their kids rather than send them off to boarding school as an inconvenience. I assume that if he knocks off by 6pm to spend the evening in the Commons bar or his gentleman's club it would be acceptable though.

They've had a string of hard working PMs like Boris Johnson who set the bar high.
0 -
JRM spends so much time there he has to sleep in the chamber.

I mean it's another disgraceful bad faith series of attacks. He says he tries to keep Friday evenings after 6pm clear to get some time with his family, and suddenly that has turned into "Angela Rayner will be in charge if there's an attack on Britain at 6pm any day and she won't use nukes". Or "He says he wants flexible working for his time in number 10".
They aren't losing with any class, are they?
Interestingly two weeks ago, when asked what he admires about Starmer, Sunak said...

Typically done within a nano-second of each other. That time will be on Friday at some point.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

1) I'm not sure who this is really going to appeal to.
2) Didn't Raab piss off on holiday when we were evacuating Afghanistan.

It's specifically Friday evening because his wife and children are Jewish.

Credit to him for not leveraging that.

Surprised there hasn't been more about him taking a freebie ticket to Taylor Swift
