Jesus the leader of the Scottish lib dems has been down Ladbooks as well.
Do bookies take bets on any old shit? Could I start betting on the outcome of patent examinations?

They are just so so bad at this. If you're going to lie, try to make it a bit less obvious than using a Tory councillor with a distinctive accent.

Yeah, the nightmare would be if the #gtto vote got split enough for a Tory to sneak in.

Imagine supporting the Tories in this election, lol. How embarrassing.
I see the Tory signs up and normally i'd just shrug but now I genuinely think "are you not embarrassed?!"

I think I have seen a grand total of one Conservative sign up outside a (massive) house in my area, quite a few lib dem, couple of greens, not many labour either.
Polls are still showing a Tory win here but a pretty close between the main 3 parties.

I feel like I've seen far fewer signs than in previous elections, but possibly that's a reflection on not having done much travelling around recently.
I'm just finding the conservatives incredibly Tiresome.

This is very funny, but also slightly worrying that Margaret's husband is allowed to vote 😂

Sounds like he should get free condoms to ensure he doesn't breed.

Watched some of last night's debate - it was really tawdry. Especially the questioner who said that Starmer was having his strings pulled by people high up in the Labour party, whatever that's supposed to mean. He asked "are you two the best we can do?" then afterwards complained that they hadn't answered his question.
Sunak is in the position of using shamelessness to score points, Starmer didn't have easy answers to difficult questions but also wasn't forceful enough to overcome Sunak's debating team style. Sunak did a lot better, only partly because he is in the position of knowing he won't be held to anything he says.
Good news for Sunak is that apparently they've found some people who think Starmer might not win - they are in camps in Calais.

I find it generally a bit t0sser-ish to put up 'Vote for X' type signs. Strangely enough the only ones I've seen round my end of the world are for the Lib Dems...

It's not the councillor.

I thought that was out of order. This was supposed to be a serious debate, allowing that clown to just resort to personal insults towards the two candidates was a real low, and a wasted chance to give someone an opportunity to ask a proper question.

Also thought Mishal Husain was dreadful, and she is usually in control when it comes to keeping politicians in check.

I think the Conservatives terrible polling has probably helped Sunak in the debates. It's freed him up to act like a bit of a tit and that's always difficult to debate against.
I'm glad it will all be over soon.

Yeah, that question was just shite but the audience lapped it up. It was just 'look how cynical I am about politicians' in which case why bother being in the audience? He also described Sunak as a mediocre PM, I would have asked him for examples of PMs he thinks have been worse along with what his basis was for the strings being pulled comment.

His debating style is that of a petulant child. He stands there chewing his lip, shaking his head and looking like he's about to stamp his foot and complain it's so unfair.

True. In future the moderators need to have a mute button for each mic. Talking over each other was out of control, Rishi in particular.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.1 -
Mute button is not a bad idea!

The hedgerows on minor rural roads are festooned with blue adverts around me. Even in the national park. I am wondering if that's actually legal.

Interesting discussion in the office. Sub 30s saying they saw some interviews with uni students who were considering leaving the UK post graduation because there weren't any grad jobs - at least, grad jobs that aren't paying £50k or so.
They were furious with them. Ridiculous they expect to be paid so much. Need to earn their spurs etc. I asked what if they could get that if they did move? "Good riddance. We're all in the same boat, why are they different?".
Britain is one big crab bucket.
