On train into town for more fun and games. At least it won't be too sweaty on the way back.

Morning les projectile guidé
Warmish but very breezy. Shorty is getting an award today and not sure what for. Will find out later when we attend. I have never known a month with so many engagements/appointments. Hopefully, never again. 16 in all. Was only 11 but other things emerged.
Local A road is shut 23 miles north so went for a late jolly last night in the Porker - big sweeping bends and smooth, empty road. Magic t'was. May pedal there if the closure continues as it used to be my favourite local ride until they made overtaking lanes and shifted the ferry port.
More coffee needed.
Laters.

Shorty got the award for excellence in maths! That was unexpected.

Yeah but there's only 1 residential property along the whole route that's sort of near the road.

Finally? But good move to get one before they go hybrid - have you seen the weight on the new M5? Makes some of Mercs recent offerings look a bit svelte.

Afternoon
No walking today as I’ve still got a blister for Sundays walk. So another sweaty turbo session. Later is a physio session. I wonder what delights I will given next to perform .

F**king scum sucking low life lying drug companies and their shills, sorry, doctors pushing the crap. Take the antivirals, they said. They’ll rapidly reduce your symptoms, they said. Side effects are minimal, they said; stuff tastes bad and you’ll have chronic shits, but hey they’re really good things.
A few days later, the “experts” call to check progress. No, I don’t think they’ve achieved much beyond the shits and bad taste. My symptoms eased slowly, not dramatically. Oh, did the doctor “mention” the bounce effect? Eh? Yeah, you know, where a few days after you recover, your Covid infection returns. Whattheactualfuck are you saying? Oh it’s quite common apparently on these drugs, we dunno why, it just happens to somewhere between about 10 and 20% MORE patients than ones who don’t take these drugs. Didn’t they mention that?
No. Could you put me through to the dumb f**kwit doctor who prescribed this crap, and “forgot” to mention this possibility? Oh sorry, they’re not available right now…
If you haven’t guessed, tonight I have tested positive for Covid again for the second time in less than three weeks. Given I had tested negative finally two days ago (twice, to be sure), I took the opportunity to visit my 90 year old mother today for the first time in weeks. I hope I’ve not passed it on. But even more concerning is… the bitter irony that this week we are almost wholly dependent on some other doctors for the very existence of Mr WS. He’s been diagnosed with yet another cancer - his fourth type - and without fairly urgent intervention, he may lose the ability to simply swallow anything. Food in many forms is already a problem, and even some liquids are tough. He’s dropped 6 kg in 3 weeks because he can’t eat calories fast enough.
It will be bad enough if he develops Covid anyway. But given his expected treatment involves both chemo and radiotherapy in hospitals, he needs to be Covid free to even start. And delays of even a week or two at this stage are quite possibly the difference between a good and a very poor outcome.
I cannot begin to describe just how fucking angry I am.

Not good at all things happening to you WS. Can only offer best wishes. And hope that you get some better news somewhere sometime.

that's not good ws, can only hope that it didn't get transmitted to your mother or mr ws
i remember reading about bounceback in the newspaper ages ago, a prescribing doctor must surely be aware of it and should have the sense tell you it could happen
fwiw...
