London underground quiz - most popular journeys
So, TFL just released the top 20 most popular journeys on the underground (e.g. London King's Cross to Bank) in 2023.
You can get a like from me if you're able to name any journeys in the top 10.
Note: it is a specific journey so London King's Cross to Bank is a different journey from Bank to London King's Cross.
(try not to google it. No fun otherwise).

Surely Waterloo to Bank (and return).

Any station to Paddington to GTF out of it? Speaking from experience... 😉

Would that count, Waterloo and City line isn't technically part of the London Underground network. Unless it's changed in the last 30 years of course.

Paddington to Liverpool Street

Paddington to oxford circus. Although maybe Paddington underground lines aren't as busy now Crossrail is a thing.

Am guessing it is going to be a lot of commuter journeys and the tourist short hops.
Oxford Circus to Baker Street
London Bridge to Canary Wharf
Tottenham Ct Rd to Leicester Square
Oxford Circus to Bank
Bond Street to London Bridge (or vice versa)
Oxford Circus to Victoria
Any of these make the top 10?

As someone who used to get Bond Street to Bank every day, the Central and Jubilee lines were always sardine tins!

Wikipedia: As part of the privatisation of British Rail, on 1 April 1994 the line was transferred to London Underground Ltd for the sum of £1.

Just over 30 years then 😂
It did always seem odd that it was part of the 'overground'

Victoria to Vauxhall?

I know we all live in bubbles, but I think some southerners are overestimating the Vauxhaull passenger numbers

Based on what I see:
Victoria to Oxford Circus
Brixton to Oxford Circus
And presumably these two in reverse.

Could be, but the few times I've had to get to Euston for an earlyish train it's a choice of waiting for several trains going northbound from Vauxhall before getting on, or heading south before getting onto a northbound train. Heading south is quicker, but if it's really busy you have to go two stops to be able to get on a train.
Thankfully getting the underground at rush hour is a rare event for me, as illustrated by my lack of knowledge above.

I'm not knocking it's convenience for the good people of south London, but I don't think its passengers numbers compare with some of the other stations on the network such as.. this forum doesn't seem to do spoiler tags any more.

Didn't take it that way, and you're probably right. But I'm only going on my, limited, experience so it's probably a poor guess.

Only that the train every minute arrives empty and leaves full, and it only has one line going out of it.
Not one of the busiest stations, but people only going one way from it.

Terminus stations to large employment areas so:
Waterloo to Canary Wharf?

I checked for myself as I had given up on waiting! I got one; Oxford Circus to Victoria.

I'll give a clue, no Vauxhall journeys in the top 10. There are a handful from or to south of the river.
None of you have got the most popular journey yet!

There are no Essex based posters.
