Morning les négriers
Nippy bright.
Today chores, MOT and other stuff.
Coffee: gone gone. Need more.
Big happenings with Beans: there's a new cat on the scene. He/she was at the back door said Mrs Pinno and then there's lady cat with her beautiful long black hair. Both causing much interest mixed with anxiety.
Laters.

A new series of Beans on TV beckons...
M6 lottery day, heading back to the Homeland. A good long weekender dahn saff, the Nick Mason / Gary Kemp et al Saucerful of Secrets gig was excellent, the moneyball not so much.
And it appears to have stopped raining! How very odd.

Not raining, yet.
Coffee then opticians

Since Covid, people have forgotten how bad flu can be. I know what I'd rather have.

Morning Workers and Shirkers (I'm in the office so in the former category).
Nice sunny and mild pedal in from the 'burbs into town. Will need to fuel up soon as man can't live on coffee alone. Still much to-ing and fro-ing with the Kingdom of Far Far Away who are being stupid and incompetent so we're having to compensate for them. Onwards...

It could be a love triangle.

The moneyball?

Good weekend had, now in limp mode.
Friday - James at Coop Live.
Saturday - Family gathering.
Sunday MrsHD was at a run called race the train. I just pottered about on a short 5k and then drinking, eating, more drinking and more eating with the football on TV. I didn't make the end of the game as I took myself off to bed.

Morning All including sickly people. Currently catching up after a wk off, looks like I've been off longer. Dodging or redirecting 💩 quite effectively up to now. Twas a tad cool on bimble in at stupid o'clock, however it was dry and almost daylight. Suspect it will be damp riding home though.

First day was just really strong aches then 2 days now of ridiculously sore throat, which is fun coughing up stuff.

Only the first 30 mins of the game was worth watching so you didn't miss anything.

That was a link from a forum post Google spat out that said EN50011 has replaced EN50005, you have to sign up to view the whole thing but get 30 days free.

I did come across that. Might sign up... I'm in contact with a bloke on another forum (yes, they exist) who may have it without filling up my mail box. Useful to know that they replaced EN 50005. Ta.

Afternoon folks,
Another day in the orifice, trying to get all the pigs in a row so they can take flight when I bugger off on Friday. I'm sure lots will go wrong between now and then. Pleasant wobble in the sunshine this morning, a bit fresh, but better than it has been.

you can always use temporary email for stuff like that...

That's a good idea.

The answer has to be negative again. Luckily I have a very clever boss who designs any panels I build. Most panel builder / designers use proprietary design software that should cover all and current legislation. TBH though most of the older regs are so bloody old they need updating to keep up with modern practices. The main thing I have to comply with is BS7671 which doesn't really cover industrial machines.

BS7671 doesn't cover 80's German built cars.
I thought I would be clever and remove a relay and compare the pin numbers on the fuse board with the corresponding letters on the relay. However, the fuse board had the identical letters. I have the whole DIN 72552 auto chart and there's no letters P and S.
I have tried translating words like power, source, receiver, control, ground (although that's always 31) and others but that didn't throw up many clues.
seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
so it's a relay with 6 pins? no other markings? picture? in what? etc.
anyway, this has p and s...
https://web.archive.org/web/20160919113802/http://www.vintagebus.com/wiring/xref.html
...and the mapping of those to din 72552, which is here...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIN_72552
...and also shows from that to old, including p and s, and shows that old numbers may not match new numbers
also noticed this old thing which has some more...
i expect a beans epic

Borrowing an m4 of a mate - not as nuts as the m2 but still rather silly

There's moneyball going on every night at the moment, over in that there Germany place.
An ok return journey, some minor slow crawls on the M5/M6 in places but no too bad. My greenhouse plants are a bit happier now, seeing as how my watering system plan failed. They'll survive.
Need some carbs and some bevvy and some sleep...

Not been watching the football then Loon? 😉

Oh okay, thanks for that.
In the 72 page Hella pdf, 'P' is referred to as a free pin. In that top article, P is 57a - parking lamps. Odd, this is a relay for a headlight washer motor. As the new MOT rules will apply to the Porsche, I either delete the headlight washers or make them work. I'm firmly in the latter camp. S = 49a; output which makes sense. It is all working fine as I changed the relay but have subsequently learnt how to test them. It's pretty straightforward as long as you know the working resistance of the coils and which pins to measure across.
I have the DIN chart you linked to Wiki.
The Bosch chart is identical to the DIN chart.
Beans epic is entirely dependent on weather but we shall endeavour.

Good luck on translating German techno language, it's almost impossible. With older automotive relays which tend to be mechanical, you can sometimes get the outer cover off and decipher the connections that way. Sadly most newer relays both automotive and industrial tend to be solid state so no opening them up, luckily they tend to have connection and internal information printed on them.
