I'm not sure anyone had ever argued on here against her being a liability to Labour. She's probably not quite Truss level of bad though. People who are significantly right or left of centre are generally not appealing to the majority of voters although she has a huge majority as does Truss as they are both in constituencies where the right coloured rosette would get a dog elected. As with Corbyn it would be interesting to see what happens if she stood as an independent though.

Interesting from NI.
Pat Cullen, the leader of the nurses union has stood down to run as the Sinn Fein candidate for Fermanagh South Tyrone
The seat is currently held by SF with a majority of 57 following a Unionist pact to agreed a joint candidate
Should be an easy win as Unionists can't get their act together this time round.

What is going on with Liz Truss
This is bonkers even for her

It won't be any more bonkers than that interview with Steve Bannon will it?

To be honest, she is probably quite harmless except that she doesn’t appear to do her own thinking and is getting advice from some very dodgy characters.

She is well on her way to being about as relevant as David Icke.

I just find it slightly fascinating she appears to have no-one in her inner circle or close family who are able to step in and say 'er..is everything alright Liz?'

You make it sound like she'd take any notice.

What does that tell you about the party membership😂

Wonder if LemmingNet would show similar results?

Kind of happy if she does a bit of profile raising right now. Can only help Labour.

Does say something about the state of the country that a “shoring up you own vote” strategy mainly involves policies fucking over under 25s as much as you possibly can.

I figure it is a "let's try to be at least the opposition" strategy, with the expectation of a fight over longer term direction to follow.
Or I could be giving the strategists too much credit....

Apparently Sunak’s tour schedule looks incredibly defensive, all places that were once safe Tory seats but are now marginal.

I suppose he has to go somewhere, makes sense to be places they can afford to lose the votes.

Only a 2% swing required for the tories to be bottom of the table.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
Shame more of them don’t vote really. It could be an utter humiliation

BBC amalgamation of polls. The blue line is definitely drooping.

Reform has peaked.

I reckon they’ll get a lot of the Reform votes back when people enter the polling station and get the jitters. Especially any ‘anyone but Labour’ types who think through the consequences.

I don’t think the graph is particularly good for Labour either to be honest. The slapstick governance of the last year hasn’t really increased their percentage and they’re a long way off the Truss era peak. As for the Lib Dems, how they are failing to make hay is an embarrassment. It isn’t the time to sit in the sidelines hoping votes will drop in your lap.

If I was Richard Tice I'd feel like Farage had done the dirty on me

Looks like the team of lawyers and KCs are just happy to take the idiot's money. It seems courts can't overturn primary tax legislation. So should Labour in fact change tax law to apply the full VAT rate to school fees, the only way to reverse that is to defeat Labour at the following general election and change the law back.
Or possibly Tice made it up
Or the Telegraph.
