Was going to SG but elected to have coffee al fresco instead of sitting on a laptop.

...as it is glorious today. Would have pedalled but had to meet estate agent*. Will pedal after school run instead.

Morning, sorry CBA to kick off this morning as currently sleeping standing up somehow. Need some serious sleep. Currently greyish out and cool. Might disappear and get my head down in a corner somewhere.

    Morning

Just stopped pissing down here. Currently everything is soaked plus it’s cold, so not very inspiring for a bike ride. But tomorrow’s weather looks horrendous. So might have to man up at some point.

    Moron-ing.

Lovely and dry and bright here. Dropped car at garage and cycled in. Guess that means it's going to absolutely p!ss down later and I'll be soaked and fleeced of a few hundred smackers. Ho Hum....

Moaning, fresher and grey skies today, Met Office issued a thunderstorm warning a while ago from midday. Showers have arrived earlier than forecast, so outdoor ride on road bike is in the balance.

Busy morning with early-ish start on account of having Japanese, Chinese and Aussies on the morning call. Just been down the local medical centre for another PSA blood test, just another precautionary.

    Onwards to more virtual meetings...

That's actually not bad. Is that including labour?

I think inclusive of labour and VAT so not too bad. It's a rear hub bearing on a Skoda Octavia. The reluctor ring had corroded and munched the end of the sensor apparently. I might have tackled it myself except the carrier for the caliper has some really awkward bolts that really need an impact wrench to gun them off.

ABS sensor costs about Β£10 and can be fitted pretty easily if they don’t snap on attempted removal, which they inevitably do, then it’s a PITA.

I thought wost people just wire brushed the ring down and replaced the sensor if it was kaput.

Nah. Not any more. The ring is integral to the wheel bearing hub assembly. Looking at the invoice and parts fitted it seems a fair price. I could have bought the same parts less the 20% vat. Add the labour at 1.3 hours and add vat on top works out what I expected.

    Evening folks,

Busy day in the orifice with a decidedly moist wobble home. Finally managed to get that bloody gear cable fitted to colleague's bike. Didn't have time to sort the indexing and finish off, that will have to wait. Shirking form home tomorrow so the weather should be good.

Just saw Mrs Seano's post on that awful Next Door website, some of the responses are absolutely ridiculous. My 'favourite' was "Hope your son is ok , I recond if you called the police and said there is a bloke waving a St Georges flag up and down the rd there soon be there ."

Glad somebody helped the lad out afterwards.

I never knew you lived next door to Seano. Commiserations.

That website has a very loose description of 'neighbours' It's useful on occasion, but mostly complete shit, it's like an unedited version of a local paper's letters page. I really should unsubscribe, but couldn't resist clicking the Mrs O'Conn one. No pictures, but I can DM her and ask nicely 😁

I’ll warn her that the perverts are lurking πŸ‘

I told her not to comment on the loopy replies, some were helpful. Police visit this morning, said they would check CCTV in the area.
