Sunny and suspect it's nippy outside after hearing next door scraping their car. Hope my seedlings on the patio survive.

Off up a hill or two later.

    Bonjour les grande rustiques

Cloudy but not raining or blowing a hooley.

Beans delivered a live mouse at 2.11am (ish) to play with, right upstairs and into the bedroom. The frikkin run around he gave me.

Caught and repatriated mouse for another day.

Today I might go on a jolly in the Porker after pedalling. I have a Porker and it's jolly. In fact, why don't I pop out and get the milk in it.

First, the essential liquid of life; coffee.

Sunny, not dark, too early for laughing, owls were definitely hooting.

    Ride soon, coffee consumed.

washing is out on the line for the first time this year, must be a good sign.

currently nursing a bagel and a brew waiting for it to warm up slightly then will head out for a ride.

Fishing is on the horizon once it stops freezing over night, hot tub later.

Good night at friends last night, chilled walk with the hounds, now in the hot tub with a cuppa watching the qualifying in the sun.

few jobs and either a run or bike then off to friends for dinner and staying over in the van

Only cold drinks in the tub for me, I don’t think my brain would cope with a hot drink in there.

The usual delayed start for a Saturday, just waiting for Mrs 666 to finish faffing around then we can head out with the hounds.

Later will be assembling and testing testing our new mower as the old one was from the last house and can't cope any more. Then check the bike over as we've got a tasty little 73k ride mapped out for tomorrow - upping the ante a bit from our usual low standards but avoiding some of the most bastardy climbs.

    Afternoon folks,

Slowish start was enjoyed, lad was over last night as the laydees of his house were having girly night. He found out yesterday the award he got at uni wasn't just for the best dissertation, but for the highest graded piece of work across the 5 years of his course. Clever lad, obviously doesn't get it from me 🤣

I'm now in charge of lunch so that will be a disappointment for all. Off to see Dune 2 later then off to the old dear's later.

Don’t ride into the back of cars guys…

    1. I need to check my brakes.
    2. Oakleys are pretty sharp when sandwiched between your face and a rear screen.

    Ouch, hope the bike's ok.

Bent the frame on my lovely old steely doing that.

Hope you're not too badly damaged then. Take the Seano view of 'chicks dig scars' if necessary

Sounds painful HD. Was anyone anyone in the car at the time or was it parked up?

Look on the bright side, some bloke on the Commuting forum a few years back did the same and ended up paraplegic.

It was indicating left, looked like it was going to go so I didn’t really slow down. Only it didn’t and ran out of road.

I am going to blame my brakes though, after a few decent descents the front seems to have gone to pot. Needs a dose of looking at asap.

Clouds appeared as soon as I got up onto the hills, and a cool northerly wind made it pretty chilly all afternoon.

A bit of comedy on the way up the pass: traffic had ground to a halt and could see some people running around up ahead so wondered if something bad had happened.

Turned out it was a farmer and a wife/lady friend trying to catch a couple of sheep who had escaped and were on the road. They managed to round them up eventually, she grabbed one, lifted it up by the legs and shoved it into the back of the land rover, the second took both of them to manhandle and roll it into the back.

As we passed they were looking at each other with a "bloody sheep" espression on their faces.
