Not sure about this. I'd put in on a par with a masters and below an MBA.

I’ve been lucky that places that I’ve worked have taken a view of worth based on what they see you are doing. However, a lack of CEng did cost me even getting an interview at one old school, stuffy consultancy. The job description could have been written by me based on the job I was doing at the time and J had far me than the minimum experience they wanted but the CEng was all important. I wouldn’t even have been considered for a role two or maybe three grades below with them. They’re probably the only major consultant living in the 1990s like that.

i got chartered many moons ago, but it's never mattered, don't ever recall it being mentioned in 20-30 years
only real use has been that some governments/public bodies allow 'professionals' to sign/certify things or give references, never understood why, but it can be handy
