Finally stopped raining in the midlands, but I imagine I will still be packing soggy running kit into the car when I check out of the hotel.

day 3 of work snizzle and still enjoying it, home later which will be nice.

The weather gopfest continues to knacker my cycling plans so on the train again. We even got an email from our water supplier the other day saying 'it has been raining a lot, but...' FFS. Onwards to meetings and torturing numbers.

Ironically by time I got into central London, the rain had stopped and the clouds had cleared. Hey ho.

Pneumatic drills been going past 1/2 hour as contractors get down into the ground for the (well speedy) sewer repair. I await with interest any whingeing from any lazy dozy non-immediate neighbour who've had their forenoon nap disturbed. Iz a hAte kriMe innit.

And it's not raining, for a change, for a brief spell. Best get some stuff fettled.

Chain whip has arrived. I could do some serious damage with that on the terraces. โ€œOi, Chelsea scum, Iโ€™ve got something for you.โ€ THWACK!

anyway, I shall be whipping the bike until the cassette falls off.

  • About halfway along the loft! Lining it with horticultural fleece so easier to clear out next time, not doing to long each time as requires a lot of concentration to keep only standing on the joists ๐Ÿ˜„

while the cassette is off, time to check wheel/freehub bearings are smooth or if they need servicing

Make sure the pawl springs meet standard specifications including: tension, wear and tolerances. Check pawls.

    You're going to jail, sonny...

Mind you, I wonder what happens if someone in Scotland abuses someone in England - will they get their collar felt or will they get a letter of thanks from Uncle Humza?

G'wah ye wee puddock. And as for ye saft southern jessies there...

Street drain issue resolved, problem was a bodged connection sometime in past causing blockage. Hole now backfilled and barriered off, will be left for a few days for settlement prior to getting re-tarmaced. Good (public) service.

    well done!

next you'll be stripping the chain of nasty gunky grease so that you can wax it, with the connex link it's so easy to remove/refit

    Afternoon

Early start was had as we had to be out of the house as we had a viewing. Mrs W went out without a coat then decided she was cold so we had to go buy her a coat, I might try and go out with out any ๐Ÿ‘– so I can just nip and buy a new pair. Went to Castle museum in York which was ok, we thought about going up the new viewing platform in Cliffordโ€™s Tower but 26 quid for the three of us seemed a bit steep๐Ÿ˜‰ So went to Decathlon to get the boy some cycling kit only to find they only do kids stuff on line. In the end it didnโ€™t matter as he fits in to small men size.

I seem to have got a tickly cough might need a Brandy to cure it.
