Seemingly trivial things that cheer you up

But who created the creator?

Isn't it incredible how that Skylark has evolved. The eyes, feathers, the way the legs/claws retract for aerodynamics.
0 -
Is that more incredible than anything else that has evolved to live in a particular environment?

No

I was thinking of the cheerful sounds of Skylarks's then my mind went on a tangent towards how it all evolved and stuff.

Not to say a Skylark isn't worth noting as a good addition to Earth.

You know I mean I appreciate it's evolution to sing nice.

The day the House Martins arrive with their chatter and industry is always a good day.

Well said! 👍
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

When I got my first work iPhone with Siri years ago we were on holiday in Pembroke with the kids. Plenty of Skylarks chattering overhead. I asked Siri to "show me a photo of an Eurasian Skylark". I wanted to impress the kids. Siri came back with "I have found you pictures of Andy Bell from Erasure". Still makes me chuckle to this day.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

That racket is no substitute for Skylarks.

This may explain some of the apparent levels of unhappiness in Cake Stop.
And there's an easy solution 🙂

So not giving a shit about other people makes you less likely to be stressed. Who knew?

You don't sound very happy, Pross...
And of course only a wokey dokey would claim that anyone who isn't woke doesn't give a sh1t about other people 😉

Having a dream about farting, then waking up and doing just that. The simple pleasures.

Garden birds getting busy around the casing territory for brood sites. A couple of crows who have been local for years cracking on building a nest. The sense of spring even though our weather has been a little "murky".
A nice ☕ after a walk, none of this gargling machine twaddle. Mug, coffee, full milk, spoon, slurp.

You'd think the far corners of the universe would have a bit more respect for such a courageous leader and explorer.

Yes and Joni Mitchell is still going strong at 80.

Jon Anderson is only 79. 😉

Hope they’ve sold their homes and are renting one bedroom flats. 🤨

You can be president at 81 or 77, so it's no age.

Ned Boulting finally appearing on and winning Fighting Talk although, as usual, Dougie Anderson owned the show for the majority of it.

Just taught a delightful and intelligent 10-year-old who not only has just got Distinction at Grade 3 on French horn, but who has now been presented with his own new (second-hand) horn. Pure joy for all, and even better when lovely music is the result. And it reminds me of the awesomeness of being able to help mould people's lives.
Trivial in the-world's-going-mad stakes, but anything but at the individual human scale.

Not only is the new mobile mast near the French house up and running, but just got a new offer of 150Gb for 9.80€ per month via Réglo Mobile. And I'm going there on Thursday. Youpi. Not that I'll be spending all day on the internet if the weather's half passable... there are mountains waiting to be cycled and walked up.

Haha, a railway station café, French style.
The legendary Train Bleu at Gare de Lyon. Ate here once about 17 years ago with four other school colleagues, on a day trip from Exeter just before Christmas. If that's not decadent, I don't know what is. Probably the fanciest end-of-term bash I'll ever do. Had to stick my head round the door today to remind myself, and it didn't disappoint. It's gloriously nuts.

Agnetha Fältskog. Just watched on iPlayer 'ABBA at the BBC', produced 11 years ago with clips various from the 70s and early 80s. She made me happy when I were lad 😉
