Morning
Kicked out of bed early as Mrs W was in super tidying mode in preparation for having the house valued later today. Now on second coffee and later will the Wednesday day ride with the other boomers, could be a day for discussing our pensions and how much money weโve got tied up in our houses given the debate on here.๐

Off to California to see a pal, perhaps shouldnโt have drank till a few hours ago with another palโฆโฆ., bright side, saw a really nice Westfield yesterday on the way down, shame is a narrow bodied one, not sure anyone else will fit in it with me

Make sure you post that in Cake Stop so RC sees it.

On the train into town - free brekkie has been used to lure a number of tax anoraks in to a meeting with advisors to talk about boring stuff. Then more boring stuff as I actually have to pay attention to the budget today.

100% pure Colombian #1 while perusing t'interweb and waking up, ahead of a day in The Gardens. Which for first time in a while is looking to be dry and getting sunnier by the hour. Get to it PVs, 23.5kWh generated Monday in the sun, 12.1 yesterday in the not so sun. Now if only I had an infrared rotisserie sauna thing...

Moaning all. Usual stuff whilst busy actually enjoying the job I'm on. Hopefully department Adolf will help stay away as he's clueless as usual. CBA to ride in as running tonight. Currently unusually dry here for a change.
Too many bikes according to Mrs O.0 -
You're visiting the San Jose branch? ๐

Afternoon folks,
Seem to have a mild hangover for some reason. I think it was the fifth pint that caused it, the previous four are utterly blameless I'm sure. Another day of delight in the orifice, pleasant wobble in for the most part. Had a twunt in a van drive straight through some give way lines at me where there was one of those chicane things so only one person at a time can get through. Could see him coming so kept right over to the side, the silly bint in an Audi SUV behind him followed without looking, then saw me and moved over to her left. The sound of her alloys clouting the high kerb accompanied by the rapid deflation of at least one tyre made me think she might look next time.
Glad you asked the question of TLW Seano, somebody had to. We don't have a San Jose branch, but I have visited the Santa Barbara branch, or head office as it's known. What a dump. Have fun TLW.
Tonight being Wednesday I will have to visit a local hostelry for some hair of the dog.
Onwards and upwards...

So it's worse than 'Santa Hanworth'?

The building is worse, the area is warmer, but not much better. Considering the proximity to the ocean you'd expect better.

We will have none of that 'ocean' Cholmondeley warner.

omens were propitious, saw a tabbycat on the way there
bubbly lunch at ladies' extended into bubbly snacks and bubbly dinner, followed by port and exploration of the multifarious liqueurs of their bar cupboard
exactly what bastet expects of us for her festival

Sounds like a good day SG, I intend to do a fair bit of port sampling this weekend. Any recommendations for port in Porto?

Nah, twas the 'mericanism.

many of the houses have lodges/cellars where you can look around and have a tasting, plus all the bars/cafes, so you're spoiled for choice
depends on your taste, i prefer tawny/colheita, there're distinct differences in style between the houses, so if you've a preference i'd say look for those house(s) first and plan accordingly, imo lunch/afternoon is best time for tasting, some are very organized with tours/menus and need booking
i'd go for...
kopke for sure, maybe also cรกlem
then just go random find a comfy bar, order a range of nibbles and work you way through the menu - only order one glass of each and share, that way you can try more before you are completely trolleyed, have plenty of water as a buffer
if you want to try a range in one go, there're bars that run organized tasting sessions, also walking tours that throw in tastings
