Truly trivial. Finally getting round to buying and fitting the button battery in my spare car key.
Less cheered up that I did a third of my previous year's total mileage in one trip to a funeral in Horsham, but pleased to have taken an 84-y-o who's got dementia (lots of repetition and forgetting dates & what to do next) but to whom attending the funeral was still something he very much wanted to do.

Haha! That reminds me when my son was at infant school and brought back these books and I used to read them with him and my daughter who must have been 3 at the time. I think they were trying to put a lead on the dog called Floppy when my daughter shouted out "Floppy's got a Strap On"! Oh how we laughed but could never explain to them why 🤣

Buying a handmade leather belt from a leather works circa 1988 and still wearing it daily. It’s developed a nice patina and will hopefully last another 40 years, although I may not.
Part 2 of this fascinating tale (and the bit that initially cheered me up). I’ve used the same 2 holes (since ’88), but recently I’ve needed to punch a new hole…making the belt tighter. And no, I haven’t been a 46” waist the whole time.

In a similar vein, still regularly wearing a 30 year old (M) 1994 Team Once jersey.
Not only that I can still wear it comfortably, but that it has lasted so long still looking new.

Something else that has stood the test of time.
I decided to give my car its 19th year service and replace the (factory fitted) long life iridium spark plugs. Some security bolts needed drilling to remove the immobilizer to get to the plugs. On removing the plugs, I discover they aren’t the long life variety after all, just standard plugs.
Fitted long life ones, so I’ll wait till 2050 to replace those...

I often get compliments on my clothes when out and occasionally on my beard moustache. Unfortunately it’s usually from blokes.

To all the people saying the tires were fake its actually a really simple trick! They stuck a weight on the edge of the wheel and balanced so the weight was on top, making it top heavy. So when something bumped it, it went off balance and rolled til the weight was on the bottom. They fought gravity with gravity.
