The first stage of Etoile de Besseges has already been cancelled, due to protests in the area.

No Mads Pedersen win, today then.

    The peasants are revolting (again).

Lots of alpine motorways blocked over the last week of so.

Yesterday's Valenciana worth watching for Mohoric descending off the last hill. Sublime.

It was if everyone in the peloton were resigned to him riding away on the downhill and he duly obliged.

He’s just in a different league to everyone else.

A good finish in Etoile de Besseges with Mads Pedersen actually not winning. It’s an odd arrangement Eurosport have as Kirby and Smith are hosting live coverage, yet much of Europe is, for some mysterious reason, geo restricted.

Quality celebration from Coquard today, just a shame he didn't win. Livened up a ho-hum stage though.

Good day for Lidl-Trek today, Mads P winning in Besseges and Milan winning in Valencia

A busy day of sports today.

Test cricket, a six nations double header plus the Queen stages for all three races.

Valencia’s finish looks like a bit of a beast, but the Saudi’s have the most stunning finale, possibly of any race. Besseges looks a bit meh besides the other two.

Close finish in Besseges today with the breakaway just hanging on with Samuel Leroux (Van Rysel-Roubaix) outsprinting Stefan Bissegger and Dries de Bondt. Mads Petersen retains the GC with just tomorrow's TT to come.

Pleased to see Ben Healy back in action in his Irish Championship jersey

A close thing for Mads Petersen today in the final stage of Besseges. Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa-B&B Hotels) was today's winner beating Mads Petersen's time by 10 seconds. Having started the stage only 12 seconds behind Mads he finished second on GC only 2 seconds behind.

Would have been great to have watched this live (L'Equipe chose sand racing from Le Touquet instead☹️)

I caught the end of it on Eurosport, it wasn't all that - the production didn't stretch to the sort of time gap graphics that make TTs exciting.

L'Equipe did (re)play the final stage today but it's not the same when you already know the result. Good rides by Vauquelin and Petersen all the same.

Nice to see Oscar Sevilla up there in the GC to add a veneer of respectability to proceedings.

If he was on the Weakest Link I think you could rely on him to shout bank! at the most appropriate time to preserve his gains, around 2006 in his case.
