Up early to finalise accounts with the bean counter.
Envious of stevo but 4 days seems like a lot of faff.
Knee is quite good following a zwift and hike yesterday.
Head not so much after the Malbec.
Probaly helping count more beans later so no swimming. Roll on Thursday.

Morning
Todays idea of a long bike seems to have scuppered by stuff falling out of the sky at vast rate. Power went off which put paid to catching up yesterday’s cyclocross. However normal service resumed power and racing. Might do some climbing later.

Depending on progress I might either gym, zwift or swim.

Grey, grey, grey, and not just the hair.
Musicky admin stuff this morning, and then test ride with the new rear mech this afternoon, if the rain hasn't arrived early.
I hope that @Stevo_666 is enjoying the snow. I see it's all gone from my local resort in France, so it's just as well I'd not booked a skiing holiday there at February half term. Well, I don't ski either.

It's the same all across France, the only saving grace for me at the minute.
It's OK higher up but the lower altitude reorts seem to be suffering.

Progress on hangover the clearing?

Poached eggs have helped and as clients are being cooperative progress is being made meaning slots may appear in todays schedule.

Wet today so no sports, but legs goosed anyway.
Last weeks problems seem to be getting resolved by itself which saves a load of hassle for me.

Warm, breezy, dusty. Builder in with excavator preparing for retaining wall rebuild. Mess.
Much tedious labour involved in sorting out the peripheral things.

True, wanted to go for.longer but had problems coordinating diaries with mates and was desperate to go as hadn't been since 2019. Skiing good and pistes uncrowded so I'm a happy bunny.

Ta Brian, snow's fine up high (Flaine is at 1,600m) but really.bare lower down like you say. Feels more like March than January.
Time for food n beer....

Afternoon folks,
Another day of fun and games in the orifice. So much so that i started typing this an hour and a half ago and have only just got back to it. Managed a reasonably fast wobble in this morning, I'm sure this is down to improved strength after riding on ridiculous tyres rather than wind direction. Not much going on other than the usual nonsense. Large septic boss is over next week, deep joy. Hopefully he'll tell us he's out of a job. Fingers crossed.
Now 3 hours since I started writing this.
How's the Boy doing B³? Hope he hasn't had any more 'accidents'. That makes it sound like someone beat him up. Enjoy the snow Stevo.

Boy had a couple of his mates over last night to put the world to rights. Still seemed pretty cut up this morning before going to work though, and will be for a while. No more stupid gestures thankfully.
Busy day at home today. Office tomorrow.

Cheers HD, here you go.

That first beer looks off to me Stevo.
Glad the boy's alright B³, moping about to be expected.i struggle not to be sarcastic at that stage, for some reason sarcasm doesn't cheer them up 😂

Looks great stevo! Very quiet and lovely blue skies. Second beer looks fine, but like V says, there was some crud in the pipes for the first one.

That looks great Stevo but what's with the cream on top of the hot chocolate you bloody cup cake?

We're skiing athletes and we were fuelling up with carbs and fat 😀

Bloody lovely that after a hard mornings skiing. Now demolishing a few Caipirinhos in the hotel bar and trying to forget how much my quads are aching.

Apparently sarcasm isn't the way to deal with problems at work, so I've been told anyway.

Phew. So much depends on microclimates in non-glacier resorts. Looking to the future, I think the ones near me are going to struggle to keep going many more years, if the weather fluctuates so much, with longer warm periods over the winter, so no real base is put down. It'll just end up with locals on raquettes and cross-country skis making stuff up, I suspect, being able to pop up from home when snow happens to fall.

Hot chocolate and then later, cocktails. I dunno.

We did have beer in between. Trying to cover all the bases 😇

True, we have always gone for high altitude resorts to be safe, even donkeys years before this became a potential holiday spoiler.
