SG replacement Friday thread service
Gentle run with hounds, work stuff, lunch run with a pal, more work stuff, gym and pub with friends.
all whilst working out if I fancy a 3.5 hour drive to see a Westfield tomorrow, because if I buy it, that will be a cold drive home (no windscreen or heater)

Morning les Diablesse
Bit dark this morning wot with all the cloud cover.
Must go stir Short one...
Beans came back black last night the filthy tramp cat from hell. Dunno what he had been doing. He had a distinctively diesel/fish whiff. Got a warm flannel and cleaned him off as best I could. Seemed to like it. I avoid bathing cats so that was the best solution.

A Westfield, like a shopping centre?

Beans has figured out how to get more pampering from his head servant

You need to strap a GoPro to the cat and see what he gets up to.

That doesn't sound too appealing in this weather.

Do what they all do on YouTube: take a thumping great Range Rover with a trailer to bring it back…

Hopefully getting the skiing trip booked today, just a few final details to sort out. Need to get a spot of work done as well.

Afternoon.
Still nippy but no frost or ice yet. Went for a haircut and beard trip, Turkish barber enquired whether I was from Crete. I didn’t know whether he thought I looked like a Greek god or Stavoros. A climbing session when I got back, now waiting for the decorator to finish to clear. He’s not here next week as he’s doing the winter spine race, whether he’ll be fit to recommence the week will be de debatable.

Afternoon. Busy busy busy. Which is really irritating. Thinking about going for a plodding 5k run this evening but I seem to have developed a big toe injury. We’ll see. Got to have a meeting where I tell a new member of the department that his performance really isn’t up to scratch and he’s in danger of not getting through his probation. That’ll be at 3.15-ish, strategy being that he’s done for the day so I won’t need to cover any lessons today. Monday might be another thing. It’s all good.

Afternoon all. Busy. Busy. Busy. Not my ideal Friday. More to come.
@tlw1 that sounds very "mid-life crisis". Much better ways to spend your dosh with more bang for your buck, as MF used to say "Ho's n blow" . I'd concur.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Afternoon folks,
A pleasant day of WFH, well, being at home is pleasant but the work leave rather a lot to be desired. The level of stupidity is still quite remarkable. I really shouldn't be surprised by it.
Not as cold out today I believe, haven't actually ventured out to check though. Not sure if we'll manage a pub trip tonight, depends how the EPO is feeling. Might order in a takeaway if not. Female child is working on an essay as well. She's painfully slow and is stressing about not having it done in time, but won't get up earlier and can't work any faster. I can't convince her she spends too much time perfecting things that makes little difference to the final mark. Bloody students...

Barstewards...
Went to the consultant yesterday afternoon, definatly no skiing this season (as expected) and no competative running for at least 9 months post opp.
I had a good look at the pics of the inside my knee and it all looks peachy and in his opinion its "nice and tight".
Should be able to manage a sof jog in 3 months but until then, swimming, gym and cycling only. That means no Triathlon this year.
Anyway, back to the important stuff, busy busy, site visit this morning followed by a cold sandwich and chopping some kindling.

A seep through you type cold, grey, sunless day, showing 3C feels like 1C. PVs generated a princely 1.2 units. Just as well I fired up the woodburner early. And where was the fish van for my smoked haddock for my planned risotto? The banner was there 'every Friday 9am-1pm', no van. Is it Friday? Sold everything early? Plan B for evening meal forming...

*** Nut update ***
New nut arrived but seemed very flat in the package, weird. Opened package and it’s just a flat cap 🤔 Obviously isn’t going to screw onto skewer, so I attached front wheel and realise there’s a flat cap already in place!
The good news is i didn’t lose the nut as it never existed. The bad news is I may be losing a few (several) marbles.

possessed of such deep familiarity with safety critical elements of the bike, you shall have no fear as you venture out 😀
