Liz Truss, mad as a balloon?

And seemingly not a light of intelligence evident from her round of interviews yesterday.

A toxic bomb which will sink the electoral hopes of the Tories and makes Starmer look PM material.

Should make the Tory conference interesting next week but it seems all the grown ups are staying away……….

A balloon does have an inflated ego though. 😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Her liberal party conference speech should have warned people she should never be let near any real power.
Still the flash crash the last days (when the pension funds nearly went bust) is partly down to the Sunnak spending spree and the BoE being caught out when the mood music changed towards higher interest rates. I don't think Truss has the competence to even get a crash right.

How dare you! An insult to balloons. And me. I identify as an Orange, non-binary, deflated ballon.

    Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

  • We could make this the balloon thread, I suppose...

Disagree that she is a mad as a balloon. Tbh, she's not mad at all. Quirky. She could be quite a laugh after some beers. Could be.

Qhat she is is totally and utterly fuckingincompetent at her position. Dangerously so.

Promoted well, well, well above her level of competence.

Just totally incompetent. And she ain't going anywhere

  • At work I got given a metallic helium filled balloon, it stayed afloat for months so it got passed to each new birthdayer.

Maybe inner tubes could be made from a similar substance
  • You make a ballon mad by inflating it then letting it go so that it whizzes around making a f*rty noise.

There is a political metaphor in there somewhere.

it whizzes around making a f*rty noise.

That sounds a bit like some of the threads on here.

I think the opposite is true.

Kwarteng's over inflated ego has been popped.

[There's loads of mileage in this]

Maybe you need a 'Pinno's Great Messy Anything And Everything Goes' thread...

She looks like a rabbit in the headlights at the moment and, to be fair, probably hoping that it will be quick and painless.
As MF says above, promoted several levels above where she should be and a classic example of confidence massively exceeding competence. She must be regretting throwing her hat into the leadership contest. Even her own nightmare scenario about how difficult the job would be must have been better than this. The local BBC interviews yesterday were like someone kicking a puppy - she was utterly clueless and regurgitating the same cack to every question. I have no sympathy for her, by the way - she is a clown and is heading for the shortest ever tenure as PM, surely. An utter horror show that would be funny if it wasn't so serious.

Agreed other than the regretting bit.
She’ll be telling herself it is everybody else’s problem.

I do think you are over estimating their capacity to feel shame.
  • Some times I think I should spend less time at work on Bikeradar forums, but then I look a Liz Truss and think "sure, I could be better, but at least I'm not screwing an entire country over within 4 weeks"
