Hi has any one had a Carrera seat bolt snap

I had a nasty accident in February this year on my way to work my seat bolt snapped clean in half. The police had to close the road of because i was waiting for the paramedics. I had to stay in hospital for 11 days because i had to have surgery with to metal plates because i snapped my ankle and fibula and tibial bones im still in a xceltrax boot for 3 months. Has any one had any joy with halfords for claim .i did read of a guy in 2012 with the same thing just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how did you get on many thanks jay
