"If you want a set of wheels to tackle a bit of everything, then the Ksyrium Elites are hard to fault, and while you can get cheaper this is a solid package that'll give you real peace of mind.
They've always been good, but with better tyres and being tubeless, it's a very impressive package indeed."
I think the most popular at your price will be, hunt , cero, mavic, fulcrum the list will go on
I saw an advert for Zuus carbon wheels for less than 500 , they get very good reviews
If you do a search on the forum you will find plenty of advice , good luck
If you shop around you might get some duarace c24. They’re light tough and the hubs are peerless. Unlike the ultegra ones.
Ive got a set of the first ones that came out with over 50k miles on them , they’re doing winter service now and still going strong though after more than a decade of abuse the rims are almost worn out. Hubs are still silky smooth.
I know shallow rims are supposed to be as unaero as it gets but the c24s score well. They’re narrow by todays trend and not tubeless but the rims are very light and they make your bike feel great.
Campagnolo Eurus, quite light, really well built wheels, good enough to race on. I have had some 5 years now and not a spoke gone out of true despite some big potholes. If you can't stretch to £600 get Campag Zondas
Thanks for the comments so far. I think the Dura Ace C24 will be outside the budget.
My thoughts are with the Mavic Ksyrium Elite option or Fulcrum Racing 3.
I have a concern about making the jump to tubeless, and the Fulcrum option has a 2-way fit option to consider. Any thoughts between the two?
Thanks
You don't have to use tubeless with the Mavics so it's just a big bonus should you change your mind. They do come with tubeless tyres, valves and sealant. Send me a PM if you're anywhere near London and do want them. Sorry again for hi-jacking the thread and have fun deciding.
Cero AR30 from cycledivision are hard to beat for £300, I use them for training wheels on my race bike and it’s hardly worth switching to my tubs for racing! And although I haven’t used them the AR24 for £190 is probably an even better deal given the money you’d have left over!

I've had the AR24's, very good for money, amazing in fact, very light and I did 1000's miles on them. Have heard someone on here say that they are so light and cheap because use poor material, but I certainly never had any issues with mine, would happily buy again

And on Mavic's brilliant tubeless set up:

That’s what I’d get for £500

I have the straight pull version of these and they are excellent. Just don't use the supplied brake blocks, they're carp. Use Swisstop Black Prince - epic.
