Thursday, the new Friday

Morning Slackers,
Must be SG and Oxos day off.
On the train into town for my Friday as I'm headed North tonight. Tomorrow involves trip to meet with a shady character who makes a living from disposing of things, so if you don't hear from me after that I'll probably have been murdered and recycled into biofuel.

Stuff blowing round the garden kept triggering the security light all night. Going to have to deal with this then have a nap.
I hate bloody November. Always have, always will. 22 days until the nadir then things start to pick up, days start to lengthen...but not of course for our Antipodean fellow travellers, wot wiv their equable climate, stunning views, etc etc. Not jealous, not at all.
I can confirm that much slacking is going on here. To the point where I considered typing this to be an effort.
Weather's OK, mild and blustery. I'd rather have that than bush fires like what they have down under.
Person is coming to fix the machine that dispenses boiling water so there is a stampede for brew-making. That will be the most exciting thing happening here today.
Take it easy in Storm Diana everyone.
Need a chilled day, doesn’t look like it will happen.
It's prettysoggy here, though the wind has dropped. Mrs P is away away, so that leaves me to figure out a reason for why I haven't don x, y, z chores before she comes back.
Laters.
Waterfoul firmly pinned to one side of the rather choppy lake. again doing very little in work terms as feeling unwell, debating purchasing some new brakes for No1 bike argument being Etap groupset with Apex brakes. Thoughts?
Later will be large chunk of pork from the oven, stuffing veg an what not. Need to find a suitable tipple though.

yup - upgrade the brakes.
etap deserves Force or Red then buy another bike as a winter hack trainer and use the Apex on that.

Busy again here, just popped out to get my ears lowered as the barnett was getting a little afroesque and walking in the wind was a struggle. I should have kept the offcuts for Stevo to take up north and sell to a slaphead that deals in recycling. Office piss-up tomorrow night so I'm going into the loft tonight to get the Christmas dec's down. This will prevent the wife from bothering me on Saturday morning telling me to go into the loft. The downside of this is that she will then have access to her Christmas cds.
Think Spinner was referring to the individual involved rather than the concept. Pretty sure it's not wise but Stevo's a big boy and I'm sure he can cope.

This is my thinking too, the winter bike has the Apex shifters an some R650 brakes which are so much better. See if I can get the reds for the weekend!

Hunting has commenced now I'm home, currently the "rebuild" is looking as below
Etap groupset
XG1170 cassette (11-32) The old force Red mechanical, not paying three times the price for pointless elastomers
Quarq meter of power
Some random 66mm deep carbon rims - latex tubes and Schwalbe Pro 1's
Deda superleggro seatpost
Deda stem of some sort
RItchley bars
Some SPDSL's
Specialised Power saddle
Downside - PlanetX frame

sounds like a sweeeeeeet build.
nothing wrong with a PX frame - my crit bike is one, my cx bike another and I've built up a few. They are really good value for money.
Which frame?

It's an RT-80, Old photo with the correct rims but wrong tyres. New tape as well some Fizik Superlight in metallic grey which matches my shoes.
Struggling to find some bungs for the cable routing holes, Surgru may be needed. Bike weighed in at 8.04Kg with the winter wheels, not done the summer wheels as yet but I know they are around 300g heavier. May try an shave some more weight off, not setting a target or I'll chase numbers.
Ill build it up with the carbon wheels because they look a dam sight nicer.
If I get REALLY bored I could sand it back an just black coat it.
