2014 Nukeproof MEGA AM strange looking weld

I was about to buy second hand frame 2014 nukeproof mega AM 275 XL
discovered strange looking weld see photos , Need opinion what could happened there

    what could happened there

    You could be wasting money? I'm no expert but I would avoid that, unless it's dirt cheap then my be worth a punt??

    Unless all Mega frames are like this from New, which i don't think they are then I wouldn't touch it. It could be ok but at the same time it could be a bodged frame repair and potentially dangerous.
    Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

    My mega tr has a sticker on it stating rockshox reverb compatible. The bottom half of the stickers missing isnt it and roughly painted by the looks of it.

    Defo a bodge job,my apprentice at work could do better than that and he hasn't been tig welding that long,the bottom photo its rough as,defo no post flow on the gas

    In my professional opinion as an engineer that's been bodged to fork by some halfwit with a welding torch.
    I wouldn't touch it with a sh1tty stick.
    The quality of finish on the Mega isn't great but it shouldn't look like it's been welded by a blind ape.

    this kind of was my professional opinion,time served fabricator,been ali/stainless tig welding for the last 15 years

    I used to do the same. Too many broken fingers, slag burns, zinc fume poisoning and various scars etc. Certainly had good times though, I enjoyed it more than I enjoy design.
