Has anyone suffered this injury. I wondered what their treatment and recovery was like.

    Yes.
The 1 inch 'step' is with me for life.
The crash was almighty that should have smashed the shoulder to bits but it didnt, just tore the ligament apart.
There was no pain afterwards, no impact in movement... i needed no treatment other than the loss of skin on the left side everywhere
As it happened at over 25mph , full impact went on the shoulder..I had no time to do anything else apart from pick myself up from the floor bleeding like a stuck pig.- I'd have been better off breaking the bone as my shoulder can now scare people witless on haloween...
If a surgeon can sort it for you then let them.. I just needed to be back racing within 2 weeks so never bothered the NHS.

Thanks for the reply. From the sound of your accident mine wasn't quite so severe but the results sound the same. I have been to see a shoulder specialist and works OHC. From what I can gather your experience for recovery is the norm surgery seems to be a last resort. I'll be back on my bike next but won't be off road again for a few weeks.
